Given the speed of this signing, it's a good sign for the Zlatan rumours this morning about waiting for his contract to expire.

Obviously it's going to be hard for the most of us to know how much to be excited about this lad it's kind of the same scenario when we signed Martial a young player who came to us from no where when most didn't know much about him , and with the a high price tag ... But the fact some of the big clubs were intrested in getting him surely shows he's got the pedigree .... Props to the club for getting this one signed and sealed quickly
Looking forward to see him play !

It's fucking weird having a position we needed strengthening being strengthened rather than weakened. I don't feel very well.  |

Happy that we have signed this lad even though I haven't seen him play. By all accounts great natural ability with great pace and power. We have not had a dominating centre half since vidic in his prime. Exactly what the doctor ordered.

Bailly has a total of 40 La Liga, 3 Copa del Rey and 9 Europa League appearances. No Champions League appearances.
Matip has a total of 198 Bundesliga, 18 German cup and Supercup, 28 Champions League and 18 Europa League appearances.

Nice. Don't know anything about the lad but he sounds like a good talent. Besides, the last Eric who turned out for us didn't turn out too bad....

Well done to Ed as well as Mourinho. Managing to clinch a player within 3-4 days. Now do we need another cb? Blind was better than expected last season although our defense wobbled whenever we were under the pump. And given our defensive injuries record we will be looking at TFM, McNair, Rojo and Jones as backup. I would not trust either of the latter to stay fit for long. I would at least move Jones on. Depends on how well McNair is rated by Mourinho. Maybe if both Rojo n Jones are moved on then I can see another cb coming in. But I'll prefer strengthening other positions before adding one more. Now Mahrez/Sane, Pjanic/Pogba and Zlatan. Add Griezmann to it and I will get a tattoo of Ed.  |

How have people not heard of a Centre Half who played for the 4th best team in La Liga? I always wonder this. So much football on nowadays it's really not that difficult to catch a player, particularly if we've been linked to him. What's ironic is people will have no problem clambering for a player to be signed on the back of a few decent games in the Euros that they manage to catch. |
