I would say this - firstly, I think the country will be worse off in the long run anyway. The short term shock would be bad and most economic forecasts suggest we'd be worse off for leaving even as far forward as 2030. Hard to predict much further than then. Secondly, the long term for me personally could be two+ years unemployment which would just totally fuck me for years and years. Just on this, I forgot to say it earlier, youth unemployment in the EU is 20%. Hardly a resounding endorsement for your prospects. EU != UK. That figure is heavily skewed by Spain and Greece.

What do our Irish posters think? Are you worried about a possible brexit?

Agreed. If you don't understand then don't vote and you're well within your rights in my opinion. You left, get out. That was my only comment in the thread because I have no idea what you guys are yalking about

Will we need new passports if we were to leave? No, wondering why you'd ask to be honest?

What?! No it isn't. Thankfully the EU haven't managed to impose an 'EU national passport' on us yet. No doubt they'd fancy it if they could though.

Actually, that is a point. It does say 'European Union' doesn't it.

I swore I would never get one but if I can abuse their shitty Good Friday Agreement to take the mickey out of the EU after we (hopefully) leave, I'll be getting an Irish passport.
