Thought I'd start this up as it's getting close to vote time, What are your thoughts on the whole thing and how will you vote?
I'll admit I've not done that much reading up on it, as most of it is conjecture anyway and politicians arguing are like primary school kids arguing.
Nobody truly knows 100% what will happen, so for me it's a vote from a gut feeling.
Leave for me

Not a fucking clue what to vote for. I hate Cameron and Boris, and find it very frustrating that the whole thing has just become a pathetic squabble between the two of them.
Hopefully I'll be able to make a proper decision over the next couple of weeks. Everyone I know is still undecided and mainly that's based on the lack of proper information that's been shown on TV and the lack of any real attempt to educate the general public on the benefits and negatives of voting either way. It's just two knobheads scaremongering.

The politicians are an embarrassment and there has been no real balanced argument from either side. Having said that the reasons and benefits for leaving don't really wash with me and the leave campaign have failed to convince me we'd be better off out of the EU, which is their job really considering we're already a part of it. Nearly everything they say has little to no proof in it or I don't care about the supposed "benefits".
I'm just slightly concerned that a lot of people seem to think voting leave means we'll be able to kick all the immigrants out or something along those lines. It shows the serious lack of knowledge on what this vote truly means amongst normal people.
So yeah, I'll be voting to stay. I think we're more secure as part of the EU and I believe the economy would suffer as a result of us leaving. Above all else I think a lot of the criticism of the EU as a whole is slightly exaggerated. Things like not liking people in Brussels telling us what to do. For starters most of our laws still come from within and secondly we have representatives within the EU who help make these regulations. People talk like it's a dictatorship and they tell us what we have to do, it really isn't.
P.s - I don't really know what I'm talking about and my opinion is based on limited knowledge.

Ignore who is involved and focus on what is involved. The decision isn't about politics, it's genuinely about everything more important. As usual the politicians have made it about point scoring and scaremongering. It's like they can't help themselves.
I would be all for the original goals/intention of the common European Economic Community but the EU has become a giant federalist monster that overreaches its authority at every level. As a solicitor, one of if not the biggest thing/s for me is the lack of autonomy to make our own laws and enforce them as we choose. The fact the highest court in our country can be overruled by a foreign body, as a lawyer and as someone with a passion for the law anyway, offends me to my core. That isn't even getting into the financial implications of not getting out while the getting is good. £ 10 billion a year, which is one of the few figures both sides agree on, going out of our national coffers to fund the EU is diabolical. Did you know that the European Parliament moves to Strasbourg for four days every month which costs (I think, can't remember exactly) about £ 100 million a year to do? Mental.
The other thing is Angela Merkel. She is a canny, dangerous politician and anything that distances us from her can only be a good thing in my view.

Stay for me. If we leave I think we'll have a recession (even a lot of Leavers admit this will happen in the short term), and in recessions young workers are the first to be cut. At age 22 having only recently got a job after 6 months I'd be bang in trouble.

That one post is better than anything I've seen from a Politician from either side.

It has to be a long term view as well. In three years say (after leaving) will you and everybody be better off in a fully independent UK? My view would be yes, much better off and definitely.

It's just two knobheads scaremongering. No one will tell you the 'proper information' you seek. No one knows. Within the Leave campaign you have at least 3 different visions (Leave but stay in the EEC so freedom of movement stays, Leave and rip up their regulations moving towards the right, Leave and add more regulations moving towards the left). Stay is pretty simple - more of the same. But that isn't always a good thing. You just have to make a decision. Look at the EU and some stats about it and then decide whether you think we'd be better off in or out. I did a politics degree and follow it a lot so if you have any questions drop me a PM if you want. I'm biased to Stay though, I must admit.

As I say my knowledge is limited and you being a solicitor I'm not going to argue with you as you obviously know more about this part of it than me. I was under the impression that we still made most of our own laws and that the EU could intervene if they disagreed with something we did. Also, on the part about our EU representatives having limited say, isn't that the same for all members of the EU?
