Honestly he has no defence on my end. I think he can do more, you clearly think he can, he just needs to show it. starts on the training pitch, hit the right note there, get a chance and take it. he hasn't taken his chances. even if we are shutting up, he has the pace to break from defending? especially as he is fresh and his legs are strong. I'm conflicted, I do agree with what you're saying but I honestly believe if he was afforded the same chances as certain other players he will be a real asset for us. From the things he's been saying in the social/media he's got a great attitude, so I'd be surprised if it's from lack of effort in training that he's not getting a sniff, And Jose knows at the moment he can't take too many risks with an off-form player. Comparing him to Micky at the moment is just daft though, one is in the prime of his career and was the best player in one of the top 3 leagues in world football, the other is a kid who had a decent season in Holland and had all of his natural tendencies stripped away from him. Like I said I'm not sure what he is like in training however my thing is if what your doing isn't getting you game time in a team where the attackers haven't exactly been great in your position I'd be asking every coach what more I can do and then go and do it. Martial hasn't been great on the left, no one has really made that position theirs so far this season so there is a chance. in all honesty I don't think its wrong to compare, the comparison is not on ability or age but how you can turn things around. they both have talent I just think one has a better application at present and maybe a greater desire to succeed. if there is one thing I know LVG and all his coaches were pro Memphis, tried many approaches with him too granted the big thing is the style of football LVG wanted went against a style many attackers were accustomed to probably. As much as I'd like to see Memphis competing to make the left his and him and martial pushing eachother to new levels all in the name of starting, i can't see it happening and whilst LVG has to cop some flack the player himself has to cop an equal portion of flack, forget LVG, new manager, push on. if he has to be loaned out instruct the agent to look at a premier league club so he can show the league and maybe himself that he can do this.

Re: schneiderlin in that article - it wasn't just one player Strange though, given how he'd pretty much owned Utd's midfield on the previous 2 occasions he'd faced them. I know owning Utd's midfield back then wasn't much but still.
