Dear Uncle Agony,
I have been a spoiled football fan when I was a child. Now I can't cope with the shitness of the last three years. I am frustrated we have been playing better than before yet we can't get a single result - fuck off Giroud and West Ham.

Ps. I am also sad I've wasted my time on Lingard and Fellaini on the two days I have on my hometown, even with loads of things to do. Can you send them both to Everton or Sunderland?

Dear Uncle Agony Mike, I knocked the star off top of the Christmas tree and the wife had a go at me and said I was drunk (and I had not been drinking), so later on I had a few wines and with one eye closed put the star back on top of the Christmas tree and the wife said I was still drunk......I had put the star back on top upside down?......help me please.

Dear WhatsTheMata, As you will know, the sands of time have made any need for an answer redundant, so I can only apologise that I did not see this sooner. We're still a long way from the glory days, but we're getting there. Lingard is annoying (as re-emphasised by West Ham) but useful as a squad player. Instead of shipping him off we must make sure that there are better players ahead of him to start regularly, which Mkhi & Mata should do comfortably. Anyway, better him than Rooney. As for tree, I think Jose is slowly seeing the light. Perhaps China can take him off our hands in the summer - afro wigs could make a killing in merchandising there.... In life we must always focus on the positives (though time taken to analyse how to prevent further negatives is never wasted). As illustrated by others, many would happily spend Christmas Eve like this - you must embrace the possibilities. It can be very fun and cathartic to get roaring drunk by oneself once in a while, especially if United have just won and you recorded the game to watch back again. Perhaps save a copy of a great game (hopefully a win vs. The Scousers next week will provide) for just such an occasion in the future.
