Dont you live in texas gramps? Is it really such a sick and horrible place? as usually everything we hear about texas has something to do with angry white people who are in love with their guns Texas is not that bad. Overall, especially politically, Texas is a headache, but there are several cities within it that are as cool and fun as you like, filled with liberal hipsters. Places like Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas are traditional liberal bastions. The problem with a lot of Texas is the panhandle-type flat moonscape. There are a lot of rednecks, but there are also the type they call "good ol' boys" who really are gentle, humble, and polite - all while maybe wearing those ridiculous cowboy hats. They are a state that was founded with the hopes of bringing slavery to Mexico, and that strain of thought is never too far from the surface. It's a very schizophrenic place. If it weren't for the gerrymandering they did around 2004, the state would already be in the Democratic column. Texans can be very loud and obnoxious in public places, basically the worst stereotype of Americans abroad, if you've encountered us away. Cheers mate for giving some insights.i was expecting it not to be as you hear and read in the media. Same with switzerland.everyone thinks its paradise here, you earn tons of money and people are wealthy and so on.while its partly true i could name twice as much reasons to never put a foot into this country😀

Texas is where Ann Richards was a beloved governor until the Republican machine smeared her and then elected Rick Perry as governor - basically a male version of Sarah Palin. Willie Nelson & Merle Haggard & Kris Kristofferson call it home, and so did Dubya. At the statewide level they have a lot of problems because they raise revenue through property taxes instead of income tax. County by county the rates vary wildly. I would recommend reading "No Country For Old Men" by Cormac McCarthy, because it's set in Texas and you can get a real feel for the good old boys. To sum up, I enjoyed living there for the year I was there, but I was glad to get back to California. I think in Texas I was always suspicious of the people being closet racists or religious fanatics. If you factor in a place like Austin, Texas is among the best and the worst America has to offer.

As an optimist I keep thinking that if this shit keeps coming out up to the inauguration then Trump will have a complete Bi0-Partisan capital hill as all of them look to impeach the clueless fooker. Given the money that fooker has at his beck an call I doubt that the worst is still to be revealed. I've been pissed off at some of the incredibly dumb, interventionist shit that my country has done, and I had a reputation in places where I was stationed for being totally intolerant of the lack of courtesy that some Americans show when they are outside of the US (To the point of literally bitch slapping more than one of my peers for their complete lack of courtesy in someone elses home) But until now, I have never been ashamed of my country. Seeing that waste of oxygen in the White House makes me ashamed, it shows a mindset that I honestly did not thing was still so prevalent. I fooking well hate the kind of intolerance and racism that has been shown at all levels of this past election cycle by so many people. Dont you live in texas gramps? Is it really such a sick and horrible place? as usually everything we hear about texas has something to do with angry white people who are in love with their guns Actually I live in Iowa, a wonderful place, full of very kind and giving people. I was raised in a family where my mom was Minority student liason for the college in town, and I marched with her in the 60's in support of Civil rights. Texas is a great place as well, I've never been one to label people by where they live or who they live in the middle of. There are incredible people world wide (A I know from my time in the USNavy) and if you treat people with respect, you generally have that reciprocated. Now, that doesn't mean that if someone acts like an asshat, you tolerate that, because Iowa, or Guam or Japan, or wherever you are, it is your home, if someone can't respect that, dot their eyes. Far as Angry white people in love with their guns, they are fooking everywhere, but are, as most asshats are, in a serious minority. Our press is like your's in England, where one could read articles and think it is a country full of Chavs beating people in front of betting parlors and taking their money, while drunken football fans oin the way to the matches ignore it. The press world wide makes a living off of bullshit,. and if they had their way, we'd be in an unending war. Do what I taught every one of my kids to do. Grampy 101: Ignore the bullshit, and, be it foods, places, customs or people, experience it for yourself, you will enjoy it more often than not. Treat peoiple with courtesy, and if earned, give them your friendship and respect. Courtesy is something I try to extend to everyone, I expect you to do the same. Don't let anyone step on you, don't step on anyone. Treat asshats like mosquitoes. There are too many of them about to go chasing after them, but if they land on you, a sharp slap and a squish is how to deal with it.

I honestly see him capable of starting a war on Twitter or something. He is the president elect of the United States and he is arguing with everybody on fucking Twitter.

The stuff with Pence and the musical 'Hamilton' is both hilarious and frightening in equal measure.

The stuff with Pence and the musical 'Hamilton' is both hilarious and frightening in equal measure. Just a distraction from the fact he settled on a class action suit for fraud. And the fact hes using diplomats to improve business. He's a master at covering himself with so much shit you don't know where to look.

The DailyKos is pretty biased against Trump, but they do tend to post facts. This came after he took to titter after being lampooned by SNL. www.dailykos.com/story/2016/11/20/1602236/-Not-even-president-yet-and-Donald-Trump-is-losing-his-mindQuote: You don't get equal time, you pompous suit balloon. The American president has zero protections against comedians mocking him in television or in print—he doesn't appear on the network afterwards saying I'm da president of the United States, and I strongly disapprove of that last sketch in which I was portrayed as a luxuriously coiffed show rabbit duct-taped to the top of a steel coatrack. You self-absorbed git. You citrus-faced two-bit monorail salesman. You great gilded walking Viagra advertisement. You woman-grabbing, child-groping, teen-ogling professional fraudster and con. But wait! He also just cannot stop being obsessed over Mike Pence (doomed for the next for years to play Ronald Reagan to Donald's Bonzo, and if you think that is a compliment to Mike Pence you are unfamiliar with your Ronald Reagan movies) being talked-at by the cast of Hamilton. Donald will freely tell you which minority groups in America are the most full of rapists and is willing to torture and kill the families of suspected bad-doers for the sake of fulfilling his turgid campaign vows, but talking back has him in flop sweat for an entire weekend: [/quote]
