Someone's feelings are going to get hurt today and I'm here for it. It won't be the end of the world or people's freedoms like the fear mongering that's being put out ad nauseam. The only thing I want to see is Ted Cruz lose. I hate all politicians in general, I hold a special hatred for him. I’ve no idea whether or not you’ve voted yet and frankly it’s none of my business. However, if you haven’t, I’d strongly suggest you do some quick research into the impact of Autarky as economic policy. I voted last week. I don't wait until the last second to vote like a lot of people do for some reason... plus it's been pissing rain here in Houston all day. I'll give the suggestion a read either way as like I like educate myself, thank you |

Half the country lost a concrete freedom as a result of his last presidency, so not sure how you can say it’s fear mongering. Certainly will have a lot of repercussions for people’s freedoms in Ukraine as well. Not that anyone here gives a shit. |

Can't argue there but Ukraine can't win that war without getting access to ballistic missle technology and more advanced weaponry. Do we want to go there in the west? How far are you willing to go to win this war? Most wars end via negotiations and this one will be no different. |

Don't know why you say this, there's no evidence that says he'll hand Ukraine over to Putin. Pretty sure the deal will include the Donbas and let's be honest Crimea has been in Russian hands since 2014 and its never going to be on the table anyway. |

Gut feeling says the negotiated peace will see the Donbass regions become part of Russia, nothing more.
Either way, the sheer volume of US taxpayer money that has gone to Ukraine during this war is astronomical (particularly given the domestic economic outlook and debt).
At the very least, the danger of US (long-range) ballistic missiles now making their way to Ukraine and landing in Russia (and the associated consequences for the world), is now probably much diminished.

Trump is a spoofer who is too lazy to carry out any of his promises, few as they were (see Mexican wall in 2016, see mass deportation in 2024). He also most likely be a drooling mess inside of 2 years with Vance waiting in the wings. That’s the truly frightening prospect.
