Can someone explain to me the purpose of this 'womans march'? Specifically Trump and Pence & Co. have vowed to defund Planned Parenthood and to repeal the Affordable Care Act. The effect of both of those actions on women's health will be catastrophic. In addition, Trump has shown repeatedly that he is a sexual predator and a misogynist, and women the world over decided to show that Trump is outnumbered. It's a time to come together and find comfort in the sheer numbers of those arrayed against Orange Hitler. It was also a way to vent and to provide public spectacle that demonstrates that this president does not have a mandate. It was a time for women and girls to reject the patriarchy and to reject the idea that a man in a position of power has the right to treat you like his property. |

Yes and 3 million more people voted for Hillary than for Trump so that comment was Trump just trying to wind people up. It's the majority reaffirming their position. Trump party has power not just in the white house but in the house and senate and yet there is more votes for democrats. It's not going to go away for the next 4 years It's their own fault they've persisted with an archaic electoral college. How do you propose we get rid of it, since you're an expert on American politics? Explain to me how we, the Democratic states who were part of the Union, can convince the former slave states (now all Republican) to give up the very mechanism that grants them extra power? A constitutional amendment requires a 2/3 vote and a presidential signature. So we can decry the electoral college until the cows come home but the Republicans are never going to give it up. |

I wonder how many of those fuckers protesting actually went and voted. They should ask some of them that. A shitload of them never voted. They're not even American  As for the popular vote crowd, they can fuck off. They all know how it works,and has worked for along fucking time, that's the deal. Executive order signed which withdraws America from Trans Pacific partnership. From what I gather this is a good thing since TPP was fucking evil and allowed corporations to sue nations over losses and was literally an agreement penned by Satan, granting unreal powers to big multinational corporations.

- She wants women to be locked up at all times when not in use.

The fact they went further than other administrations after hiring a guy who doesn't seem to like the EPA, to run the EPA could also be seen as ominous. Time will tell either way. Trump is more or less a climate change denier, and he put one as head of the EPA iirc. We're all pretty fucked on climate unless we change something pretty fast (4 years perhaps?). China are finally starting to work on it which gives me some hope... |
