No offense Paul me old mucker, but I question the sanity of anyone who hates Rooney so much they'd rather play the likes of Mata and Martial in an utterly meaningless game, a few days before our biggest game of the season, knowing that if they get injured that only increases the chances of Rooney getting a start in aforementioned biggest game of the season.
He is an absolute must start against Palace, unless we are planning on playing pure kids instead. No way should someone like Martial start ahead of him.

Mata I would start for game time only as he's been out for a while. I'd take him off at HT. Martial simply because he needs to impress if he wants to be in the side for the final. He's been gash. Rooney unfortunately will play some part in the final, I think we can all accept that to some level. |

Mata and Martial both need to play some part to get their sharpness up. even if its just the last 30 minutes or so.

He has had decent patches from the left against Spurs and Southampton but mostly I haven't seen this so-called resurgence people keep talking about. His body language looks shite and he barely got a shot on target. His assist for Own Goal was good though. |
