Hope Leicester keep hold of him tbh - if Coutinho is worth what he went for, 65m is pittance. Reports now that City have pulled the plug. It'd be spectacular now if we somehow ended up with Fred this window just to rub it in.

Chelsea have signed Giroud for around £18m. The fans must be over the moon given they were previously interested in Crouch, Barnes etc.
I think it's a pretty good deal for Chelsea, he's about the best they could have got for a back up big target man - now Arsenal are left without that option in games where such a player is often needed.

Mahrez has gone AWOL appaz. He's gonna Odemwingie it, isn't he. I really feel there needs to be something in place across the board that keeps players from doing this, but also something that protects players. Players going AWOL is ridiculous and should never happen. It makes that player look like a cunt and the team like they have no control over their players. Orlando FC in the MLS just delt with Cyle Larin going to Besiktas, training with them for two weeks, taking pictures having a medical, and wearing their jersey all without accepting a bid or giving him permission. If a player can do all of this without and recourse then whats the purpose of a contract.

As much as I enjoy this current group of players it is hard for me to think of anyone that was obtainable that I would get too fired up about.
IMO with a bit of tweeking this group is gonna be really good with Jose workin them

Going to be a real awkward return to the Leicester team for Mahrez.

Classy of city unsettle the player and then pull out of the deal, before it all went public they must of had a idea of there valuation aswel rather then putting a low bid in

Manchester City have ended their interest in Leicester's Riyad Mahrez, after the Foxes priced the deal at £95m.
If that club actually turned down 65M POUNDS for Mahrez, which is a net profit they are fucking nuts! and so is this market!

Without fuelling the City hype etc. I really don't see Mahrez as a 70-90M pound player and also is this not an overreaction to having a player injured for 6 weeks. I'd hate to see what happens if De Bruyne got injured, would they put in a 1BN pound bid for Messi? Unless he's happy to stick to City's wage structure then it's a no go. Principles by all accounts.

If you want him and he wants out.... pay us for it! He wants to act like a child and you are okay with it.... guess what price just went up 30 mil. He isn't worth 95 mil or 65 mil for that matter, but they won't bullied by a player or anyone! I can respect that... Mahrez made himself look like a complete twat going AWOL and now he has to face the team.

Arsenal have done decent business this window IMO, esp with keeping Ozil The only thing is they haven't changed the man in charge so still expect the perennial Arsenal collapse (TM pending). Mahrez is a good option on the right I think, I always thought Mahrez would end up at Arsenal, wouldn't mind him at United but I certainly don't want him at City.

Someone pointed out to me that if we’d signed Perisic we probably wouldn’t have gotten Sanchez as well, or if we did then Martial would be fucked. Another reason I’m glad that deal didn’t go through.
