If Griezmann wanted to stay at Atletico long term, his contract would have contained a huge buy out clause. It's apparently unchanged making the move easy. Only downside is that a number of clubs will be lining up for him next year because he is a huge bargain in this insane market. We have to perform well in the league and have a decent run in the champions league to ensure he stays interested. Yep. Although I was surprised Atleti didn't drop the buy out clause whilst Griezmann agreed United would pay it. A favour from Atleti for not leaving them in the shit when they couldn't replace him. Not by loads but lower than it is now. |

Does their transfer ban end in January?
If so lets have him in January, him and Zlattan would be a massive boost to the second half of the season.
Assuming he is keen to join United, make him prove it by coming this winter.

Chaps- I really don't think you need to talk about Griezmann not being keen, Utd having to persuade him to join etc. He's not Bale, who is now rivalling Shearer for the lack of interest a player had for joining us. The transfer ban this summer was a huge curveball and the only thing imo that stopped him coming here. And it's been widely reported that this is the case. And as someone else pointed out, there is also no way his release clause would be let go back down to a relatively reasonable fee after this summer unless it was a thank you to Griezmann for his loyalty in staying until the ban was lifted.
Obviously the proof of the pudding is in the eating but I really think he'll be a Utd player within a year.

Had they not had a transfer ban I honestly think he's be in a united shirt now. I admire the bloke for having loyalty and showing respect towards Ath Madrid.
If there's a chance in the summer then bring it on. Him or Bale and I'll be Happy, both and I'll be fucking delighted.

And Castles also said that Bale was again offered to Utd to fund Mbappe but Bale again said no. Asencio is better than him now, fit and will play the big games. So we'll see how he enjoys this season. |

Just because something's apparently reported doesn't mean its true. Maybe he has turned us down, maybe he hasn't.
All I care aboit is whether he does or doesn't. He may be our main focus next summer, should we sign him I'll be delighted, the guy is class and would walk into any team in the league. Good enough for me.
