Wouldn't walk into our team. Wouldn't have him ahead of Martial, Mata or Rashford. Mkhitaryan, maybe, but even then the midfield Armenian has been insanely productive in overall dreadful performances so far.

In your opinion maybe. In mine he would.

I think he'd be awesome back in this League, but he's too much of a gamble now in terms of fitness/wages/fee/age. Much rather have Martial given a proper shot at it, even though I do think if Bale was fit for 75% of the time we'd win the League quite comfortably

I'd have him ahead of both Mata and Mikki, seeing as neither are wingers. I'd have him ahead of Martial from last season, not sure with Martial of this season as we haven't seen a lot of him, although he has made an impact coming off the bench. Rashford I'd have starting regardless as the lad is brilliant.

For Spurs he didnt struggle and he hasn't struggled for Wales either. His fitness would be the main factor but we've signed players in the past with dodgy fitness record and they've turned out fine.

You're going to have the majority of your fitness issues where you play the majority of your football, and more as you get older.

We signed Ruud with his dodgy knees and look how that turned out

Van Nistelrooy didn't have 'dodgy knees'. He had a knee injury. A bad one, yes, but it was the only one of his career.

Bale can fuck off and ride the Madrid bench. 4 years in Spain and he apparently still hasn't learned the language. How is that possible? Even a chimp (a real chimp) can pick up basic sign language for food, water etc. He'll be 29 next year and will fade fast imo. MLS or China will likely be his next destination after Madrid.

There was a good article on espn about Gareth bale's time in Spain this summer where they touch on his failure to pick up the language and how it's negatively affected his relationship with the media and teammates.
