Yeah, I guess it's a little unfair on the defence to label the whole team shit. Jones was brilliant and it's another step in the right direction for Shaw. Young McTominay was solid as well if not spectacular. Those were really the only positive outcomings bar the three points.

It's amazing that Shaw is back starting EPL games. I just never understood why he wasn't played.

About £500M spent, and we're a fucking one man team. Shambles.
That was shit.

The win was important but that performance is worrying. We are entering the busiest period of the season and look how hard we have to work against relegation candidates at home. Pogbas absence is not an excuse i accept.

I'm pretty disgusted with that. Call that a response? The fact we got 3 points is the only positive about that. Fucking hanging on at home to Bournemouth. Martial pretty average from the start again by the way. He's still got a long way to go for me. Needs to consistently produce the performances we knows he's capable of before I get too excited. Still his best performances this season come from the bench. Yup.

Not the first performance we've had like this without Pogba.you'd have thought Jose would have realised this and done something about it instead of being content with the same approach.
Not expecting us to play every team off the park week in week out (as nice as it would be) but a reasonable performance at home against far lower opposition isn't asking a lot.

There's no doubt we've improved this season. You just have to look at the table and see the gap growing between ourselves in the top 3 and the rest but nearly everyone on here said a proper title challenge was mandatory this season. Not necessarily a title win but a worthy challenge and we look a mile away from that right now.
We don't maintain a pretty much perfect record over the Xmas period and we could conceivably be out of the title race by the beginning of January (that's if you don't think we're out of it already). It's just not good enough.
I don't even think I can throw much blame at Mourinho tonight either, besides maybe his insistence on Lukaku playing all game, every game, which I suppose you could say is massively detrimental to us playing any decent football but the players have got to fucking show more as well for me.

Rashford looked smashed from his first sprint. He was a sub. And he had no legs. What the hell?

Was thinking about that and unless we had won pretty much every league match since August, there'd be no other way to be top of the league. Huddersfield, the Vermin and Stoke were the only matches we can put the blame on Mourinho's game plan. What is unsettling is the gap between ours and City's football, something that was pretty evident on Sunday. As you said, should improve or we are out by January.

Bedtime for me, quite surprised I didn't fall asleep earlier to be fair.
Peace.

Pathetic. Almost wanted Bournemouth to equalise so we couldn't gloss over that utter shite with three points. As others have said, this is the big response to being bossed on our own patch by our local rivals? PATHETIC. Nail on the head Bestie, we're a fucking shambles. Jose is morphing into Louis Van Bonkers. We're shite.!!

At the start of the season we were smashing teams like this, I don't understand what has changed. Is Pogba THAT vital? Yes. Pogba is much more than solely an attacking threat, he strings the midfield with the attack and helps out defensively when called upon. When Pogba isn't there, the defence and attack might as well be on different pitches.

I have little issue being behind this City side in the table. They've made a ridiculous start and as you say we'd have to have won every game to be top. I do have an issue with being so far behind though, not only on points but in quality of football. Beating Bournemouth by 3 or 4 tonight wouldn't have meant we'd win the league but it would've showed we're still up for the fight and are going to chase them all the way, waiting for them to slip up which they will do in my opinion. Instead it was the kind of performance that said even if you do slip up, we'll probably drop more points ourselves, so don't worry about it.

At the start of the season we were smashing teams like this, I don't understand what has changed. Is Pogba THAT vital? Yup. Plain and simple. He is the lynchpin. There is no link from back to front without him. None of the others are either willing or capable enough to step up in his place. Thats one of the reasons you pay that much money for a player of his quality. It also shows how much has been squandered since Fergie left (partly his doing/starting with the "no value" shit) - either on players clearly not good enough or players that haven't progressed as expected.
