Football in general is definitely worse now than even ten years ago. It's 'entertainment' now, rather than sport. It used to be entertainment came from watching the sporting competition, but now it's all over-refined, over-sanitised bullshit. It's not rose tinted glasses either. Football for me peaked in the 90's early 2000's. I actually think Barca ruined it the most, that & tackling being killed off. You now have to field 10 midfielders. Doesn't matter if defender can defend or goals scorers can score, they have to be technically excellent, passing in the most important part of the game now. If that barca team had come earlier they'd have been smashed off the park. I love watching old games, the pace was incredible & the tackles flew in.

fully get what your saying, however if am right what bestie is saying is get rid of that dross and replace bit by bit with quality. it's got to be quality over quantity, that's what rebuilding is about, by quality and then promote some youth that are deserving to fill in some gaps. We can do that but we haven't really. we still have blind, darmian, rojo, fellaini, smalling (keep mike) roaming around and whichever way you look at it that's 50 million worst case that can be raised from those sales, take that money and get a 50 million midfielder or fullback/wingback Thank you. Ship them out after we win league. Doing it before is pointless. Dunno if you're trying to be funny but it's coming across as just being clueless. Not having a go, just mentioning it. I'm thinking the same about you. Find it bloody weird to be honest. Agree to disagree.

Why not just buy the quality first. Doesn't that make more sense? Economically no. Let’s face it we are a business more than a football club in the eyes of those that run the club. The business side says if you buy first especially the numbers needed you weaken your selling hand as teams know you are desperate to sell and naturally you are forced to accept silly bids to get the players off the books.
There are 15 solid players there, i’d Be in favour of letting youth fill the gaps whilst buying 3 maybe 4 each window until we are where we want to be in terms of players and squad competition. However deadwood should be shipped out regardless If you sell all your left backs & then you need to buy a left back then suddenly you are paying a lot, lot more. If you are coming second in the league & have 4 full backs then that means you are in a decent position to negotiate, if we had anyone who knew how to negotiate.

Fucking imposters.

Football hasn't been the same to me for a long time now.
It probably sounds like sour grapes, but looking at City doing what they're doing isn't any different from seeing some sprinter stood on the blocks, injecting a big fuck off syringe full of steroids into his arm then running faster then anyone else.
Yeah, it's still good you can run that fast, but the reason you're doing it is because of the illegal drugs you've just took. And you're not even hiding it.
What satisfaction is there in that? People will mock United saying we use to blow everyone else away, but we didn't. We had a bit more money to spend, an extra few million. City have literally hundreds of millions more than anyone else (bar PSG). It's not football, it's just financial doping.
Chelsea started it and City have took it to a new level.

Agree to disagree. Lets be honest if we ship them out after winning the league we might as well fuck football off altogether because there's no way we're winning the league for some time with some of the shit we have. You cut the toe off before the gangrene spreads, you don't wait until it consumes the entire foot.

We have already lived this. We got rid of a lot of the deadwood under Van Gaal, we thought we signed great players & it turned out they were worse than what we already had.

I bet that piece of paper means nothing to anyone.

We'd get rid of Young, Shaw, Darmian & blind & end up paying 60 million for Danny Rose. Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

Where do I start, didn't see the match and kind of glad city fans in pub taking the piss and I lost my shit. As a club we need to keep improving as I don't want to end up being bitter reds. We have to be positive , even though we have been on a downward curve after Fergie we have still won trophies so it's unlikely city will ever be producing a 35 years T shirt. We have spent poorly since Fergie left and Moyes getting rid of the backroom staff ripped the guts out of the club. But Jose knows how to win and let's face it his purchases in the majority have improved us. We have to keep faith in him We do have to start bossing the transfer market again and get the squad strong enough so we can go back to the days of adding just one top drawer player and a couple of squad players every summer Stop spending 30 million on a good player spend 50-60 on the real deal. Can we also go back to buying some proven English players We can't stop city this year but they will still hopefully get fucked by someone in the champions league Support Jose , buy well and ship out the shit If Moyes was believed to be competent enough to do the job he shouldn't need another managers backroom staff. I'm not aware of other managers doing it. If Fergie seriously thought he should have kept them then why offer him a job in the first place?

I know Spurs players got slated for it but that game against Chelsea was a belter. Proper battle with a bit of snide chucked in for good measure.

Didn't see it but I read the 'dirty Spurs' stuff. there's a point where you are deliberately trying to injure someone, that's the line for me. Everything else is just sport.

Football has gone shit the money has ruined it big time, even the players nobody even likes them now, i remember when was a kid and all u wanted to be was a footballer u wanted to be cantona or nedved or batistuta, who wants to be jordan henderson or raheem sterling.
I would be made up if we was winning titles still but as a spectacle its just not the same the romance has gone big time in the game
