Surprised there isn't a thread yet. Hate Monday night football.
2-0 win. Martial and lukaku.

Shaw for Young, job done. Sanchez should start to hopefully to find his feet in this team (on the right) though Lingard has done himself no harm in pushing for a start

Must win, ideally with a rest for one or two players before our three big games next week. Ideally Matic if at all possible.
Shaw has had a nice long rest so he can definitely start.

Shaw has had a nice long rest so he can definitely start. Think we all know the answer to that. Shaw was awesome until he wasn't selected again. And Jose did his 'praise the player' thing.

Just bloody win and pop a few goals in and don't let this be another Newcastle match.

Just realised I’m working late tomorrow so will miss this. Really annoying. Normally I’d run to a pub showing it and try to catch the second half but I don’t think there is one near the event that evening. FFS.

If the Rents lose today then we can go 9 points clear of them which is a significant gap at this stage. I know we have City to worry about but the Rents disintegrating would be wonderful.

What I'm worrying about is if we do slip down to 4th because Spurs and Pool are so consistently good now then if Arsenal do manage to pull off the EL we are hoping that Chelsea don't get to the final and win it. Obviously this also works if either of the other 2 end up in the same position. Only 5 teams can qualify. We know what happened with Spurs when Chelsea won it. I know the odds are against it but it is nagging me. Hopefully a couple of those teams get knocked out soon so it is less of an issue.

Chelsea haven't a hope in hell of the Champions League. They'll be out this round.

Another thing: Alexis could really do with a goal. He’s been nowhere near his Arsenal form last season; much more like his Arsenal form this season, which wasn’t good enough for the most part considering his stature and ability. I think we all assumed that was because he was disinterested in staying rather than because of a wider dip in form, but now he’s here he has to show he can step up a gear again.
He has shown flashes of what we brought him in for, so hopefully a goal or two can get him to kick start his peak form once more.
edit: I should say I wrote this wearing my Alexis 7 shirt. I was always dismissive about him coming here because I assumed it would never happen but as soon as it looked realistic I was excited as anyone. I desperately want him to do well here (hopefully on the right so others can do well in the team as well), but I don’t think he’s done particularly well for the most part so far. Now that has coincided with our form generally being a bit worse overall, so hopefully last weekend can be a catalyst for him and the team.

It should be fine, the Rents are sliding and Arsenal have given up the ghost. FA Cup. We've an excellent chance of winning this. Ourselves and Spurs are the two best sides left in and I'd like Jose to have another crack at them to tactically get it right. Champion's League. Long shot but even a run to the Semis would be a significant step for the team in terms of experience. It would also give the club a lift in general. Sanchez hitting top form would increase the chances of each of those happening hugely, particularly the last one. The first 2 we have enough if he continues flitting in and out of the action. The last one though, it needs serious contributions from our world class players and he's certainly one.

This guarantees we will return to swashbuckling, scintillating football. Thank you for your sacrifice.

Just get the 3 points. We need to head into the game against those melts ahead of them.
Just win it.
