That bench is worrying. I know we have a few injuries but we only have one person (Lingard) who has any hope of changing a game if they come on.
Also Young over Shaw again is just ridiculous.
The attack is decent on paper though. Sanchez absolutely must have a big game today.

Our attack does look good but I seriously worry about our ability to get the ball to them. Really anxious for this and not because of the usual feelings that come with this game. Can see us getting spanked.

We just have no excuse to not finish above this lot. City you can at least argue about their years of investment and spending more than us in recent times, but Liverpool have absolutely none of that. Anyone arguing Klopp was taking over a significantly more impressive squad than Jose did is an idiot (thankfully not actually seen anyone argue that), and we’ve spent miles more than them. If we’re finishing below them serious questions will have to be asked.
Winning today will go a long way to preventing that scenario.

Didn’t they just spend over 130 million on two players? According to transfermarkt, since Jose joined us, they’ve made a profit on transfers. We’ve spent £349m since he started, they’ve spent £223m. Even ignoring incomings that’s a big difference. |

I've no problem with that team apart from Young. I wanted Mata in it today and think he can pull the strings for the forwards. We need Sanchez to make his proper Debut today and the full backs need to have blinders.
Post match Carragher and Souness is going to be great when we win. Come on
