First of all, I am honoured you call me Mata. Don't ever change! It's a joke, don't take it too seriously mate. However, Mourinho had a coward approach vs Sevilla and we had a shameful exit in what it was supposed to be an easy draw. Actually, in lots of matches he has had this approach. You defend every single thing he does even when he fucks over and becomes José's apologist number one. Why? The club comes first. Is football a contest? Yes, but it should be entertaining too. Not all the time as this is impossible, but you get the point. And before you say 'oh, that's an Arsenal stuff right there' this is a point made by Ron Atkinson. He's hardly a loser, eh? Anyways, who's getting a free pass for underperforming? Pogba's slated daily, Young gets an ear pull every time he does something wrong, Smalling receives curses that goes until his unborn child, Matic is called upon when he has a mare but frankly, it didn't happen a lot. Bar Yeovil away, NOBODY has praised Sanchez, Rashford got slated too when played on the right and when he tried his fancy flicks and dicked around, Shaw is called lazy everyday bar when he performs well which he did. When Martial isn't a game changer, he is also called upon. The only ones getting a pass are Lingard, Lukaku, Mata, Valencia, McTominay and De Gea. In case I wasn't clear enough, if the entire squad doesn't click, it is because of management most of the times. A few matches I concede it was on the players though such as Burnley. What Stret said!😁 When I am not thinking about marrying a bottle of ketchup Heinz I can make sense.

I wish Jose would learn to zip his fucking lip to the media and any thoughts about players performances should be conducted behind closed doors the Fergie way, the media boys are having a field day with his comments and it's certainly got a lot going in this matchday thread, running down young Shaw like that was a no goer for me. Makes me wonder the new contract he signed compliments of 'Woody Woodpecker' is all a smoke screen and PSG have been sniffing around Jose behind closed doors, they have the dosh to buy out contracts? Stuff gets leaked to the media regardless and has been since Fergie left. All it takes is a player being unhappy because he's not getting enough game time to go bitching to someone in the press. If city weren't doing as well as they are it would be happening there as it does at other clubs. But players will keep quiet because trophies are being handed out. The same thing has been happening at Chelsea this season. Liverpool don't seem to have the same issues but then they haven't won anything for years so probably have such low expectations. I think you should take a breather Karma, I said last year that come May 2017 I would judge Jose then, an EFL & a UEFA won he passed, but the EPL has always been the Number One for me and Europe next, he has not delivered, running Man United players down to the media has boiled my fucking blood and I don't like that and to me he is passing the goat because of his faults. And please stop keep quoting that scum above, this is a United forum, not a bin dipper forum.

I don't know whether what he's said has been misinterpreted but it's completely unacceptable and pretty disgusting for a Manchester United manager to dismiss our fucking history and try to use it as an excuse for his own failings. It's a fucking honour to manage this club, don't care how successful a managerial career you've had. If you can't respect the club then you have no business being here for me.

Everyone is losing the point he was making. We fell behind on transfer recruitment because of City’s aggressive transfer business since their takeover. Facts are the facts and the table doesn’t lie, we are behind them in quality but have made our own progress from last year. We are in a completely different era right now and obsessing over our great history isn’t going to help us make real progress. Finish 2nd and win the FA cup and we are back on track with our best season since Fergie, which will hopefully set up another summer of good transfer business.

I must have missed our glorious European history where we've won multiple European Cups and are regularly in the semis and finals of the competition.

Are you saying we don't have those things? What I'm saying , is that in the past 50 years , we have won 4 European trophies. Out of which only 3 are the Champions League. And one was with Mourinho. I think in the past 20 years we've been to the Champions League final 4 times and the semi finals a couple of times more (?). We have a conversion rate of 50% which is great. But 4 finals in 20 years. Not exactly something of a glorious European powerhouse are we. Our bread and butter always has been the League and it should continue to be . Mourinho might not have been tactful or smart and probably boorish with the way he went about his interview talking about us in the champions league, but he wasn't completely wrong either.

I think he was referring more to our recent history, not heritage in the way that it's being interpreted.
In view of the former, our recent European impact since Sir Alex retired has, in fact, been pretty negligible and we all know Fergie dragged way more out of that squad nearing the end.
Anyway, Spurs at Wembley next up - confident.

Cup Winners' Cup in '91.

Only behind Real and Bayern. I'd say that's pretty good going.

You're right about Juventus, losing 4 finals must be gutting.
