Nope.
We've spent the last few years just thinking as long as we win and finish top 4 then that's enough for now, we can concentrate on the much better football further down the line. Well, we're at that point on the line now. The football comes first, it needs to be quality, attacking football.
I can take us finishing outside the top 4 for a couple of seasons if we had a progressive manager playing with attack minded youth. Winning 1-0 playing defensive hoofball with a bunch of 30 somethings? Fuck that, I'd rather lose.
Other hand, we need a title. Like, now. Otherwise city run away from us, Liverpool might fluke one, and we can't get back in the door for years. It's already been half a decade, and we still look miles away from actually winning one. We absolutely have to win one in the next 3 seasons I reckon before the rot becomes almost untenable. The good news is that even in the worst case scenario, the commercialisation of football etc. means that even if we consistently fuck up we'll probably never be as far away as Liverpool were for 10/15 years, because we'll have too much money to truly sink. But we could bob around in the top 4/6 without doing anything which would still be shit. |

But, if we play scintillating attacking football, we'll batter most teams. As Liverpool and City showed last season. Most of the shite in this league crumbles. Exactly. I honestly don't know how Jose can't get them playing good football, if you go down the league's, you have manager with zero budget and shite players trying to play attractive football, i can't wait for him to be gone

All in all, it could have been worse. Some of the World Cup guys may not be fit to play 90 minutes, but even having Lukaku etc. on the bench could be helpful.
