What’s weird is that, for one of the great Italian managers, Ancelotti just barely bothers with tactics anymore. It’s genuinely quite hard to say what Real Madrid do beyond just finding a way to win. Things tend to be a bit ropey to start with, Carlo raises an eyebrow and it eventually goes right. Dortmund were getting those chances first half, but you just knew that regardless of how many they’d get, none of them would go in and they’d regret it massively when Madrid eventually scored. Anyway, glad it’s over and everyone can stop pretending Sancho has been class with his two goals in six months of football. He betrayed us for 2 fucking goals lol

The basics of the format: - There's four pots like before, ranked on coefficient - you face two teams from each pot (so 8 group games).
- All teams are in one giant league table - in theory (in UEFA's warped mind) it is fair as everyone has two hard games, two fairly hard games, two moderate games and two easier games.
- The top 8 from that table automatically qualify for the last 16.
- Finishing between 9-24 puts you in the second round, which is the usual two-legged knockouts - win those and you're in the last 16 against one of the top 8 from the group stage.
- Finishing from 25-36 means you're eliminated from the competition.
All of that also pertains to both the Champions League and the Conference League.

More shit games and if FIFA gets its way even more shit games. Football decisions now are just about money. Fuck the players, fans and anyone not sponsoring the event. The quality of football in the Euros was pish. We need less games, not more and so do the players.

Everyone knows Dave is shit at penalties. Apart from Ole it seems. That final was a mirror image of the England one the same summer. Games should have been managed and won in normal time by both English outfits.

I really fancy United to win the Europa league this season.
We're a good Cup side, and without the CL teams dropping down we should have enough to go all the way.
Already starting to calculate the sentiment, would 4th and the Europa league trophy keep Ten Hag in a job?
Probably, if there's real progress on the pitch.

Think top four on its own would probably do it. We’re not good enough to finish any higher than that.

I would definitely be disappointed if we didn't win the Europa and claim a CL place. Erik needs to deliver this season, can't have any excuses whatsoever.

3 nights of Champions League football, and barely a fixture worth giving a toss about.
