Sanchez has had plenty of opportunities against lower opposition and has been shite. Really can't see how he warrants a game here when it's a perfect excuse to 'rest' him. Jose has had the perfect excuse to bench him ever since he got here - the fact that he has been consistently awful and damaging to the team. It never mattered. He's our new Rooney. LVG's blindspot with potato is as large as Jose's with Alexis. The parallels are astonishing. I never thought that, when Jose did one of his best pieces of work here by excellently marginalising Rooney, he would turn around and then replace him with another massively overplayed hindrance. It's really quite gutting given how promising everything seemed when he was shuffling Rooney out. At least Sanchez doesn't seem to be a self-serving cunt though.

I know Rashford is out but Lukaku needs a rest. This is Lukaku who has played 563 minutes so far this season. Being shit doesn't mean he's tired.

If Sanchez is to play, play him up top as he looked half decent there in preseason but has been diabolical ever since moving back to the left.
Grant
Dalot Bailly Jones Shaw
Fred Pereira Herrera
Chong Sanchez Martial
Not a chance, but one can only hope.
Sack Lingard, Lukaku and Pogba off.

Sanchez has looked good up front and on the odd occasion he's found himself on the right. He has looked atrocious anytime he has played from the left.
Our solution, obviously, has been to constantly play him on the left.
Marvellous.

True, I have no ill will towards Sanchez himself the way I did to Rooney in his last 2/3 years at the club. I just think he's been atrocious and I would just quite like him to leave so I can forget about it all and we can spend his wages elsewhere.

Sanchez has looked good up front and on the odd occasion he's found himself on the right. He has looked atrocious anytime he has played from the left. Our solution, obviously, has been to constantly play him on the left. Marvellous. Ashley Young would be more effective on the left than Sanchez! never mind Martial or Rashford as they were before he came! City wanted him and got Mahrez, who is planted on the right for them, so would imagine Sanchez was bound for that position too. I am not Mourinhos biggest fan, but he's not that stupid. There must be an issue, because that change looks so simple I think if we could just get rid of him would be better, but his salary, age and contract will make him impossible to move on unless some Chinese club take him. I don't know what we are missing, but it could also be Mourinho's role for him, he's never a winger looking to cross the ball, which is mostly what he does now. It's been said he's incredibly professional and he works hard and he looks fit and rested from the summer. Is he just another creative player in a long line of them that doesn't fit Mourinho's square peg He missed out on Perisic and got Sanchez and thinks he's the same player or something. It's a bit like wanting a Land Rover to do some off roading, but by luck ending up with a Ferrari Monza and instead of using it as it's meant to you go off roading in it! Maybe Pogba is right and we are just too negative under Mourinho and he's the wrong manager for with the wrong players. I'm not letting Sanchez off here, but it's fucking bizarre how all these players with so much talent are so shit when they come here now

rest shaw and let young play, also further sends the message out shaw is the number one. play dalot, play bailly, play chong, play martial, play Pereira.
I never want us to lose but if we do, it highlights even further how dated Jose's game is.

Doesnt matter who starts, we're guaranteed to witness some scintillating, fluid attacking football. Also its Carabao cup

Only thing making me remotely interested in the match tonight is the chance of Dalot and other youth players playing. Fully expecting the football to be the usual turgid, cumbersome shite, but hopefully, one or two put in a good showing to get closer to ousting the useless fuckers who usually play.

On 1 hand I would rest shawbut the other I enjoyed him and Dalot both playing the other night, plus Shaw and martial could be very good on that left side.
