Why is Giggs there. Where are Nagelsmann, Tedesco, Kohfeldt, Jardim, Nuno, Gio van Bronckhorst even. Nagelsmann is the dream. We should just pay what it takes to get him. Is he the one going to Leipzig next season? |

I notice that Jardim is not an option... Rioja and late night or another reason? At least he's actually available... He's off to Saudi, as of yesterday. There is the Another option . |

can't see us getting Nagelsmann as i can't see him wanting the move.
Howe realistic and imo will do a better job with the players he has, but as tatty said structure will be key.
Allegri and Jardim same as above.
nuno is going through a tough spell so i'd like to see how he overcomes it before throwing his name in.
Reality is painful sometimes and a reality everyone needs to face is whilst the glazers own the club, Ed isn't going anywhere, best you can hope for is a DOF who is given a real licence to deal with all on the field matters and ED be told he just needs to keep the noodle partners coming in

A real shame Bielsa went to Leeds. He might not pull us out the mire but if we're going downhill anyway at least it'd be incredibly entertaining.

I like the first reply, the board needs to set some specific criteria and hire accordingly. For me they would be:
- Plays attractive football.
- Brings through young players
- Works well with a strict budget *
* By this I mean he won’t be given unlimited funds in the likes of a City, he’d have a budget to work within, but we do spend well compared to most other top 4 rivals.
Playing style and recruitment are so important, that’s where José has lost it for me. He’s bought terribly and plays awful football. There’s literally nothing to look forward to.
We should be moving heaven and earth to get Poch. Whether it’s possible I have no idea. Outside of him it’s far more difficult, I liked Jardims work at Monaco so he would be my other pick. Zidane is too much of a risk given the lack of quality in the squad compared to what he had at Madrid,

We need a coach,someone that is capable of improving players & giving them direction to play within a system.
The financial model under the Glazers has changed,we are now never going to compete or challenge clubs with the spending power like City,Madird etc for the worlds best players.
Someone like Eddie Howe fits that profile,he also has experience of the premier league,obvious negatives are that he has no Euro experience & is probably not deemed a high enough profile name for Woodward to even consider him,given the mess we are in ,honestly don't think we could attract a high profile manager,unless they are passed there best.
Get a decent DOF through the door,someone that can work with & support someone like Howe,it could not be any worse than it is now.
Given that we already have a manager living off former glories,I'd happily take Howe as a refreshing alternative all the post Fergie appointments.

I didn't want Moyes or LvG and wasn't sure about Mourinho but felt he was at least a better choice than the previous two, now I haven't got a clue because its more than just about the manager..   |
