Yesterday was just a very bizarre game. Neither side was great. They win through a bizarre first goal and a soft as fuck penalty. We were average but still should've scored 4 or 5. Rashford, Lukaku and Pogba were all off the boil. One shining light was Fred. He was excellent again. Always amazes me how quick people are to write off players coming from a foreign league and playing in England and for us for the first time. I think they've been fair to criticize his performances but to say he's flat out not good enough and that we should move him on is short-sighted, as he's now beginning to show. See Lindelof for how these players need time to find their feet. Young Greenwood looked so composed and confident when he came on as well. Won't be a huge surprise to anyone who has seen him in the youth sides but it's still good to see them seemingly take the step up in their stride. Such a bright future for him. All in all I'm not worried. Ole's record so far is still exceptional. In terms of top 4, all 4 teams now in this battle for 2 spots will probably drop more points. Assuming yesterday was just one of those days, we're still by far the most in form of the sides in the battle and I think we'll get in there. Definitely agree on Fred. And the general whiteness of the game as a whole. I still cannot stop thinking about those missed chances though. That's what's annoying me more than anything I guess. The fact that we could have had 3 very easy goals ourselves.

I've stopped commenting on this, it's not even amusing anymore - it's like some people have short memories relating to how many of our really top players took a season (or more) to fully adapt. Maybe someone will prove me wrong but I don't think I've got involved in this stuff as either, usually keep quiet.
Completely berating a new player who's come from abroad in his first season when there are so many examples here and elsewhere of them needing time to adapt just makes no sense to me.

Hopefully we bounce back at Wolves which will be a very tricky tie to navigate.

They're a bloody good side and if the squad turns up like they did yesterday we could lose badly.

Most frustrating thing is that we weren't very good and still should have won. Created by far the better chances. Didn't take them.

Hurts more knowing your better than the opposition hurts even further knowing we would have been level on points with spurs and maybe just maybe would have gone ahead of them subject to a loss to the scousers.

I do think as well the sheer number of high stakes games we’ve been in recently was always going to hit a speed bump. Ole had a relatively easy start but given how far we were off top 4 pretty much every game was must win. And then we’ve had an extremely difficult cup run too. This week off will help us you’d think, a chance to freshen up, get a bit healthier as well. A draw would have actually been a decent result yesterday and also deserved. Not harping on about it but that’s where a more clinical striker helps you. As most are saying, it’s have been worrying if we’d created nothing. We created more than enough so we should be ok. I’m just looking forward to having our best front 3, Martial, Rashford and Jesse fit again.

Unfortunately can't get away from the bollocks online, Arsenal have officially won the World Cup.
As for their fan channel, you'd be hard pressed to find bigger goons on the face of this planet.
Time to knock off social media for a couple of days!!

It’s worth remembering that Ed has somehow allowed Herrera to enter the last few months of his contract. Because Ed. I get the feeling Ander would play here for a dollar and Ed probably knows this.

I thought exactly the same thing yesterday. We had plenty of those type of games under Fergie and RVN, Rooney or Ronaldo would hit one, we’d take a point or a narrow win and move on.

it amazes me how many chances we miss. in previous teams did we ever miss that amount of chances ? I can remember games at the start of the season where we missed clear chances too and its potentially fucked our season

I'm quite relaxEd about yesterday. A freak error by DDG. Outrageous misses in front of goal. On the receiving end of a major fuck up by the ref. Shit happens, and when it pours you end up losing. Bizarrely, I was so chilled when the game finished I thought it was every bit as reassuring as the wins in previous games. We were let down by individual errors but we were set out to win the match and dominated an away fixture against a top 6 team. Can't remember when was the last time that happened, and by domination I do not mean LVG stats, but actually creating the best chances in the game and quite a few of them.
One other point that surfaced was that for all the empathy we should have towards refs (no replays, split second decisions, you win some you lose some etc.) I cannot for the life of me understand how John Moss is still employed as a top tier referee. It's a complete joke not because we were the victims of the odd poor decision. The obese cunt is so evidently unfit to keep pace with professional footballers it's not even funny.

I can remember games at the start of the season where we missed clear chances too and its potentially fucked our season We've always missed chances. All strikers do. Occasionally, when it costs us, those missed chances are highlighted. Our best teams got to tons of chances on a regular basis so the missed ones were overlooked. It's not only on whether our finishing is clinical enough, but the number of chances we manage to create.
