What Pogba needs is better players around him, he must think "it's down to me again" when he steps out on the pitch.
I'm not defending him some players relish being the star but he is too immature to take the lead.

I'm not defending him some players relish being the star but he is to immature to take the lead. We are so thin in midfield. Matic should be replaced this summer. Great as cover, but certainly not first choice over a full season. Herrera had a great few games under Ole, but could we not do better for the kind of cash he must be demanding as a free agent?
Unfortunately, even though Pogba is the best of that lot it's games like this that make him look part of the problem and not the solution. For all the "world class" circus surrounding him, including the flirting with Real, and the astronomical wages which are only going to get ridiculously higher if he extends his contract, you'd expect him to carry us in games like yesterday's. For a player who excels only when the others play well we might be better off funding a whole new midfield by selling him.

Didn’t Pogba also have a slump when the Barca rumors were full blown? He’s immensely talented but clearly not mentally strong over a whole season or is actually unsure of his immediate future and allows it to affect his on the field performance.

Watford put numbers forward to stop us playing it from the back. We all know Matic is one-paced, Herrera isn’t quick either. This isolates Pogba, which leaves our forwards starved of service.
A bit of pace in that area would make a world of difference.

I think Herrera, Mata and Matic will need to be phased out over the summer . If we want to bring in better midfielders , how can we still have these guys on the roster ? With names like Neves, Rice and Sancho being spoken of , not to mention Fred and Pereira also in the squad, I think these guys may have to accept a reduced role or start looking at new clubs.
I still want to give Fosu Mensah a shot at midfield. The way the modern game is changing , I think his game is suited to that role. Also, since the argument is that Pogba needs better players behind him, how else will we know that without changing something...
If Ole has to make changes in the football, he will have some big decisions ahead of him in the summer. Not to mention , the accountant has to back him up .

I think Mata should stay with a reduced role. Matic has had a bad season and I'm not sure if he'll get back to his best or not; we can't afford to wait and find out anyway TBH. Ander was brilliant in Ole's first 10 games or so, and whilst he's been poor in the past few games he's far from the only one. If he plays like he was a few weeks ago he's good enough for a title winning side.

I can't understand why Doucoure doesn't have some of the big clubs sniffing after him. Seems to fly under the radar!

after DDG signs a new deal, i would happily see mata leave on a free, tidy player but not what the team needs right now. would keep ander but you would hope fred would be phasing him out, similar engine, younger and probably bit more speed. Matic i'd let go of this summer, there are options to replace him but i can't see us selling and then paying the going rate for a step up replacement. Hammers will want some serious cash for rice but if city get a ban you would think the price can be somewhat driven down.

hate to say this but for a silly sum i would sell pogba just to go 4231, we are stacked with attackers and a box to box mid and holder would be ideal. In realty if Pogba could play just as well deeper, spraying passes and breaking forward in parts he would be excellent for a 2. You can then fit sancho, lingard and martial behind rashford, as we would struggle to get rid if sanchez regains some form he would replace lingard.
A disciplined pogba in a 2 with rice would be nice.

He’s a fine player, has always shown up against us. Worth a punt? Personally I’m all in on Neves when it comes to Prem mids as he does everything well for me. But I’d have Dacoure on the list certainly. Ndombele is the one from Europe I’d target, think he’s a monster.
