Martial has been invisible for some time though . Im a huge fan of Martial, but the reality is that if he can’t add consistency to his game within the next 2-3 seasons then he’ll be just another one in the sad statistic of players who could’ve been great but never lived up to their potential. He can still have his best goal-scoring season for us though, hopefully he wakes up soon. 2-3? Try ONE. He'll be 24 this year end. He's got to kick on next season or else it'll be tricky. We cannot pin our hopes on players who won't show up when needed. He's got to turn up. Fast.

Martial is 23 turning 24, so the excuse of him being young won’t fly for much longer. He has to reach that level of consistency and focus where he isn’t making the types of errors he was yesterday. We don’t expect him to score every game but you can’t be a detriment to the team either. He won the penalty that won us the game. He was literally the opposite of the detriment of the team. He’s also turning 24 in 8 months. 8. People are losing their minds on here lately. No it’s called having an opinion that differs from yours. Nothing to do with people losing their minds. The majority of our players over the last few months have had a decline in form. 2 of those players include Rashford and Martial. It’s not sacrilege to say it.

The talent that he's got, he's got to apply it a lot, lot more.

You’re right. Sell Martial as well as Rashford. So typical. As I have said many times on here some players are beyond criticism. Answer truthfully have Martial and Rashford played well over this last month or so? The irony. They’ve been inconsistent, as is the way with young players. You stick with them in order for them to improve. What you don’t do is sell one of the glittering jewels of European football like Rashford. Which is what you advocated the other day. Which would be funny if you hadn’t been serious.

That’s pretty much my point proven right there.

You still haven’t answered my question though. You were also quick to jump in a few days ago when I mistakenly missed Shaw off my to keep list. As I have said many times there seems to be a stampede on here when certain players are critised in any way. Zlatan was even being blamed for Rashfords development.

I know you struggle to acknowledge facts when you’re arguing (who can forget your hilarious defending of Jose buying Sanchez because ‘Rashford and Martial weren’t performing’ despite the fact they were absolutely performing?) but don’t try to pretend it wasn’t.

Martial has been invisible for some time though . I must have imagined him getting that game wining penalty yesterday so. And setting up Mata for the first one. I agree his dribbling etc was gash but if he wasn't on the pitch neither goal would've happened. I know what I'd rather have.

He didn’t play well, not pretending that he did, but he played a major part in both goals. Which won us the game.

Rashford and Martial were at their best when they rotated on that left hand side long before Sanchez turned up. You resort to using insults when someone doesn’t agree with you. Struggling to acknowledging facts or the earlier one suggesting people are losing their heads because they have suggested Martial has underperformed.

That was polite. I have to go out so I can’t continue this until later. However, you’ve just completely contradicted yourself, which isn’t surprising. You continually argued that neither Martial or Rashford performed well enough on the left which is why we were right to buy Sanchez and play him there. Several of us proved categorically that you were wrong with stat after stat and you just ignored us.

Neither nailed down that spot in Jose’s second season and were rotated in that position quite often. Probably why we were after Perisic and eventually signed Sanchez? Jose wasn’t convinced with either of them. Sanchez failing doesn’t change that.

But don’t you think at 23, Martial should be putting in more consistent performances? I’m not advocating for his sale but there will be a point where he will just be what he is, inconsistent.
