Matic and Fred have been our worst performers tonight. I’m pretty sure Lingard has done literally nothing today. He's blocked one shot near the pen box and chased his opponent. Not much but far better than Matic & Fred. Fred especially kept getting disposed in dangerous area. |

All the transfer shit aside, this has been a really positive pre-season so far. Impressed and excited with what I'm seeing on the pitch for the most part.

That stat remains in tact today as Andreas Peirera was involved in the opener, before Angel Gomes scored United's second.

If the team is picked on performance and not reputation and if there are no additions to the side (which looks increasingly likely) then the team vs Chelsea should be
DDG
AWB, Victor, no fucking idea, Shaw
Scott, Pogba, Andreas
James, Rashford, Martial
The front 3 can inter- change as they see fit. James is a bit raw but his pace will be terrifying for defenders.

Talk about a game of two halves...
Matic is done and should (must) be replaced, Fred is annoying me because I think / hope there is a decent player in there somewhere...Lingard was pretty ineffectual and can't say about Rashford as he didn't see that much of the ball...
Our midfield was overrun so we didn't get a lot of quality possession...
But what a lovely goal fro Gomes...could be a little Messi in there trying to get out (sorry to the Messi-haters...)
Overall, we really need at least one quality CB and DM...that's assuming we keep Pogba and he performs...
Otherwise, great to see the kids getting good game time and a couple have definitely put their hand up for some first team starts in the season...

If the team is picked on performance and not reputation and if there are no additions to the side (which looks increasingly likely) then the team vs Chelsea should be DDG AWB, Victor, no fucking idea, Shaw Scott, Pogba, Andreas James, Rashford, Martial The front 3 can chop and change as they see fit. James is a raw but his pace will be terrifying for defenders. Same for me besides swapping the starting positions of Rashford and Martial. They'll obviously interchange a lot as you say but I'd prefer Martial to start central. |

What I’ve noticed with Fred is that he can be having a perfectly decent game but if something goes wrong then a lot of mistakes seem to follow quickly after. Which is a mental thing obviously and something he needs to get over very quickly.

Victor and Pogba are great (when Pogba plays properly anyway), but the other CB, McTominay and Periera all either have a long way to go or are nowhere near good enough. A real shame as the team surrounding it is a good one. |
