Highlights on Sky football, 2 minutes 55 seconds. Beautiful.

Watched on delay, and certainly wasn’t expecting that outcome after the first half. Even 90 seconds into the 2nd we were defending a corner. Then a switch flipped and we started to put shit together.
Solid debuts from the 3 newbies. Maguire, I too love the talking and instruction giving, he could prove immense for us. Was off my seat and bouncing for James’ goal!
No doubting we have a long, hard season ahead, but if we play exciting football and put in the effort, week in, week out, I’ll be satisfied.

Rashford didn’t track his runner once in the first half. Neville was mentioning it constantly. It was fixed at HT and I don’t think Chelsea got anything in the 2nd half down there. It seemed to me that Martial was o tge left for at least most the firat half and Rashford was centre. Maybe they were swirching a lot of losing their man. Rashford was definitely left and Martial middle. Marital did break wide a few times.

Pay £7 a month for my babbling brooks. Best money I spend each month!
£20 for 3 months here, have done for literally years and I'll never go back to looking on maps for water sources again.

Didn’t realise James dad died earlier this year. It was when he was signing for us. They pushed it back about a wekk as a result.

I thought he did very well for both goals. Nothing flashy, but kept the ball moving instead of slowing down the attack. I thought it was obvious that a Rashford overhit the pass in the move leading to the second, and Lingard did well, albeit with a simple pass, to keep Chelsea defense on the back foot. Within a minute, a simple pass back to Pogba instead of turning and dwelling on the ball allowed that sublime pass to Rashford. It’s lovely that those little things that never translate to favorable stats are picked up. He may be a bellend off the pitch but I love having him in the squad. A true team player. Lingard's biggest problem is the lack of precision.
He is quite useful in a pressing team because he has high work rate and he is good at harassing the opponent. He is also good in counter attacks if there is a lot of space behind the defenders. In these cases usually doesn't matter much if he overshoots or undershoots the ball a little. He has quite good vision, he can deploy the teammates quite quickly or he can run with the ball with a good pace.
His weakness is more pronounced against well organized defenses. He isn't good enough with quick precise one-two passes in tight spaces.
I know he divides opinion Lingard, but he really did graft today, which was great to see. He does have his faults but when I can see he’s putting in a shift, and he was chasing down lost causes today, it’s really refreshing because he’s genuinely putting in the hard yards. Don’t know if if Ole put a rocket up his backside regarding the social media antics, but this is the Lingard I want to see. If he works his backside off like this every time he’s picked then goals will follow. He just needs to keep his head down and avoid the nonsense.

Almost hoping for something negative to say about AWB so I stop hyping him up so much, can't find anything. I'm struggling to remember if I felt this assured with Neville at right back.

Jose is really good in the studio in fairness. He should stay there for a while then & just enjoy himself. My coverage had Scholes, not the best at this is he?

Chelsea were absolute dog. I kept a close eye on Mount during the game because I really rate him but he did fuck all today.

Other than that, it's negative free.

He's Welsh (kinda) but James is more similar to Kanchelskis and the name Danchelskis is awesome. They should really stop comparing him to Giggs at every opprtunity.
I do like that Giggs has haf a hand in James, Martial and Rashford though.

Lingard was our oldest outfield player.

Lingard was our oldest outfield player. He was averaging 6 in some of the player ratings after the game. As per my previous post, I thought he grafted well so to me that rating was a bit unfair as I thought he was slightly better but that’s just my own view on it.
