That may have been Scott’s best game for Utd. Really good stuff. The tackle he did early on in the game was fucking awesome. Reminded me of Keano.

We look more assured without Pogba defensively but lack going forward.

We look more assured without Pogba defensively but lack going forward. I think the solution to that is play Pogba in a more advanced role and keep McTominay and Fred as the midfield 2.

First game I’ve been able to watch for a while and I thought we did alright. Providing Leicester’s first defeat of the season and keeping a clean sheet without some first teamers shouldn’t be sniffed at.
And that’s why we kept Young, to do a job when injuries force his inclusion. He played some lovely balls to James and contributed to the defensive effort.

I'm not sure why no mamager does it though, must be a reason. Even for France he plays deeper. I thought he looked good when he was pushed up late in the game a few weeks ago.

If he would close down the CB or the CDM with more urgency he would be an amazing 10.

We defended really well. Leicester were poor in the final third, which helped. I like Matic playing certain games. He’s calm enough on the ball but an hour is his limit. We still lack any dynamism going forward, though. In all, more positives than negatives from that. IMO. In a higher reality, Kevin de Bruyne can only manage to make the bench today for city. In fairness that did backfire! But your core point is bang on.

If we’d won that stupid Palace game we’d be ahead of City.
Bonkers.

If we’d won that stupid Palace game we’d be ahead of City. Bonkers. We really should have won that game and the Southampton one. There were some decent signs of improvement in midfield yesterday and defense was very solid.. I thought Matic did well while he was on, neat organised and McT with the energy. Maguire was excellent and Lindelof did well too That set up works, switch Pogba for Mata and add Shaw and Martial and there would have been much more chances created! If Fred can step up and Matic can share game time, we might be ok, but will struggle to score goals without Pogba and Martial

Thought that Rashford one he missed was unlucky really. Inside of the post too, it’s a fraction away from being the perfect pen. Not like he skied it.

Even still there is no excuse what so ever for missing the target from 12 yards out. Was a worse penalty than Pogba's against Wolves, at least that produced a decent save from Patricio. Not gonna give the lad shit for it but shouldn't be missing the target.
