It’s almost like we didn’t play the league leaders who were on a 17 game unbeaten streak while we were limited by injuries to key players yet we still didn’t lose.

It was a good performance, not amazing but it was sickening conceding that goal because the whole club needed a lift. I felt physically ill at full time. Better now, I would have taken 1-1 before the game, but it was a huge gut punch. On the positive side, Klopp is going mental in the press which is hilarious.

Not sure what's harder.
Stomach that result after the way we played or this fucking hangover.
Sweet christ on a bike.

I'm much less gutted this morning. It's a good result considering what everyone thought would happen and we deserved 3 points. Does mean little if we don't use it as a springboard for the rest of the season though.
It's also really good that we stopped their winning streak and pissed Klopp off at the same time. Scouse managers love a "fact". Whining bastard doesn't like the way we play against them because they can't find a way to play against it, well tough fucking shit!
As Jose said.....
"He [Klopp] didn't like the menu - he likes meat and he got fish," Mourinho told Sky Sports.
"United, with the limitations they have at the moment, played with five at the back, were solid and didn't give the chance of transition. Jurgen didn't like the menu.
"Liverpool missed quality to play against a team with a low block.
"They can smash opponents that play the way they want to play against.
"Jurgen clearly has frustrations. It's a fantastic situation for his team but at Old Trafford - which is a special place to win - he never did it."

Be good to get some more players back for Sunday (Monday here) and push on. Sadly we won’t, and I doubt we will 😞

I'm not surprised Jose enjoyed yesterday's performance because it was right out of his playbook against this lot.

A shout for Fred. He ran himself into the ground and tackled everything that moved. No doubt some will think he was shite though. I really don't understand it. He had a role to perform and he did it. I don't understand what problem anybody could have with him. People make decisions on players and stick to it, sometimes regardless of the evidence. I do it, worst case was Silvestre who I absolutely loathed. Even if he played well I wouldn’t give him credit. A couple of people have decided that Fred is shit, his passing is crap etc. He had the highest passing success rate of any Utd player by an absolute mile yesterday but that will be irrelevant. Because his passing is shit. Or he plays safe passes. Anything rather than admit he actually played well on the day. There has to be a scapegoat. For some it’s Young, others it’s Fred. Even great Utd sides needed one, David May (who was shite), Big John or Fletch.

Or Fellaini tbf, Now he's gone I can see the (small) benefit he had.

Also had less touches of the ball than most of the team as well.
The notion that everyone has made an opinion on him and stuck is nonsense. Everyone was calling for him to start a couple of months ago. I just think he's been underwhelming. He still gets in the team for me because he provides some energy and is better than Matic but what he's shown so far is nowhere near enough, loses possession too easily, doesn't effect the game at all and for the most part his passing is shit, just cos he successfully completes a load of 5 foot backwards passes means shit. Might as well get LVG back if that's what we're looking for in United midfielders.

And the comparison to Fellaini is very unfair on Marouane. Fred ain't got shit on the big lump as of yet.

It isn’t nonsense. Not everyone was calling for him to start. And where did I once say ‘everyone has an opinion on him and stuck’ exactly? I said ‘a couple of people have decided Fred is shit’ If you’re going to try to argue the point don’t speak in absolutes.

When your playing against the liverpool press then playing the safe pass and being smart in possession is what you’d want your midfielders to do. He’s getting playing time because our options are lacking but yesterday was one of his better games for us. Giving him a run of games is exactly what we should be doing in a year like this.
