Unlucky for the young boys but a great night for them and their personal growth nonetheless. Astana showed almost nothing and spent almost no energy.

 shambles this is terrible. Then again, we only beat them 1-0 at OT with a 'better' side so.... Lingard scored, but he's been terrible. How is he even on that salary? Can't even shine against these? Hopefully Luke Shaw is very much second choice and Chong can get himself off to Zebra FC. No need for "or not", this is a step beyond playing a few kids. This was a full on under 23 side besides a couple. 3 making their debut and some having made no more than a handful of appearances.
They acquited theirselves well in the first half, albeit against poor opposition, lack of composure or quality decision making in the final 3rd stopped us getting more goals and we should've gone 2-0 if Chong scores that sitter.
People way too critical over a meaningless game in a competition where we've already qualified and played a load of kids.

If he wants to sign on reasonable terms then brilliant, there's talent there and he may just take a bit of time to reach his potential, definitely should be loaned out if he does stay though. |

Deflection and an own goal beat us. We also missed an open net 😂😂😂
Commiserations to Chong who probably gets loaned out and may never come back. He has much more talent than he is showing but cant bridge the gap between u23 and first team.
Levitt did well though

Was impressed with Levitt, Laird and Gomes.
Thought they were the stand out players if any.

Gomes needs to be tied down as he is a talent, has always looked good when called on.

if lingard plays ahead of Gomes ever again i'll lose total faith. Gomes is such a better player.
Laird looks a cracking prospect at RB. wont be long until hes pushing AWB

Happy to see the kids play if I'm honest. We've already qualified haven't we? I'm okay with the kids making mistakes. They'll learn.
But Chongy, mate, there isn't a big contract waiting for you I'm afraid. Be reasonable or all the best at your next club.

It's not like I'm arsed, but this is the equivalent of worse than league 2 and some of these are meant to be the youth stars that our going to be our future. Good to see some of these boys mind. |

Gomes is the 1 that we should be giving the contact too, also garner needs to start playing more, got the Micheal Carricks about him he could be class for us in a few years
