Also, this was pre-Bruno levels of bad today. The squad doesn’t have enough quality. Mata, as much as I love him, is done. Gomes should get his mins. Swap Lingard for anyone. I’d stick my dead grandad in for him and he’d be leads useless. Dalot may have had his last game for us, which is a shame. In Bruno's worst performance he was still more productive than Lingard. |

I think the last thing you can criticise with Lingard is his work rate, he’s just an absolute coward of a footballer. I thought maybe an empty ground game, we’d see a different player with him, free of the shackles of the vocal majority, but now, he was even worse. I’m 36, hate running and can barely kick a ball 30 yards without pulling a quad, but I’m a less of a Coward footballer than Jesse. |

If Villa continue to be holy unrealistic in their valuation of Grealish, can we not just get Cantwell instead?
3 years younger, about 50M cheaper.
Flog Lingard and replace him with Cantwell and that's an instant upgrade on the squad.

Thing I'm more disappointed about than anything else is that so many changes meant a lot of fringe players had a massive opportunity to show their worth against an on their arse Norwich side. Yet none of them made an impression, in fact they failed miserably to prove their point. I like some of them but today proved that although we have squad depth. We dont have depth in quality. Shame really.

Flog Lingard and replace him with Cantwell and that's an instant upgrade on the squad. Not remotely interested in us going for Grealish. He isn't an upgrade on McTominay, Bruno, Fred, Pogba or Matic. Plus he is ridiculously overpriced. Dont rate him at all for the level we need to be aiming towards. |

As I said at start too many changes. When did we last put out strong side get 3-0 up then rest some players. Instead we end up bringing them all on risking injury and end up with extra time. Downright stupid.
Lingard sorry but cheerio
Dalot had a chance to prove something, he didnt
Bailey was OK but still don't thing hes first team material
Mata sorry lovely guy but MLS time
The one I'm most disappointed with and some wont agree is Shaw, he had so much of the ball in the last third and did fuck all, really want him to succeed but we need someone better IMO
Were not bad first choice 11 with a couple of additions but squad is still poor
Oh well we're through
