Our own hands sure, but we've made it so we absolutely have to get something away at Leicester and I don't have faith for them to do it. A win yesterday gave us a cushion. Everyone was waxing lyrical about us before yesterday. We can beat anyone playing like we are, blah blah blah. I’m not entirely confident we’ll do it now either but I think they’ve at least earned the right to make us wait and see if they fuck it up instead of presuming the worst and labelling them all bottlers and mentally weak before anything has been decided. Going to look fickle as hell if yesterday was just a minor bump in the road and we smash our final 3 games. By all means, go in on the lot of them if we do miss out. I certainly wasn't waxing lyrical. I even said I had fears about the Palace game. Mental weakness isn't based on yesterday. I think we've had 6 chances to go ahead of Chelsea after they've messed up and we've won zero. I'll be overjoyed if we get top 4 of course, but the fact it would be on the last day would be a problem for me. Let's just hope Sheff Utd take all 3 points and so do Spurs so Leicester won't even be an issue.

In the next 2 games, the likes of James, Mata and even Lingard have to stand up and be counted. Mason needs a rest I think, he looked jaded last night and also you’ll start to see teams kicking him and Bruno off the park, particularly if the ref is as weak as last nights (which he will be as the English refs are amongst the worst in Europe right now). We are also gambling on the front players getting injured by playing them so much.
I’m not going to give Ole stick if he makes changes. He has to. It’s up to the players coming in to contribute.

I thought the ref was pretty lenient last night , never mind the Mason challenge do you remember the elbow on Lindelof? They ruffed us up and got away with it.

Still fuming. That game was probably still easier than the Leicester one. Just fucking win it and we have a great chance of having it sewn up before we even go to Leicester. Now we'll almost certainly need at least a draw.
Remember - top 4 was always the bare minimum in the league. Compared to previous seasons, it's likely we will have a lower points total to get it as well, in a league whose quality (IMO) is worse than I've ever seen it.
The cups could make it a very good season, no doubt about that. Still all to play for. But I have PTSD from previous seasons, so I can just see it all slip away. And then if it does the club will talk about how close we got, and the manager will say we're doing great, and we won't sign anyone decent in the summer because they want CL football, and it'll all start over again.
Sorry for the negativity. I'm in a right fucking mood. Everything about this result - how close it was, how we threw it away - has really angered me. It feels like it could be a microcosm of our season - start poorly, bit of individual magic for us to take the lead, then we throw it away at the last possible moment.

I don't think he can afford to,the players who have been benched post restart ain't up to it,probably with the exception of Williams.

If we don’t get a trophy this season or top 4, especially in the position we’re in now then we have to make a managerial change. His transfers on the whole have been good and he does seemed to have got the team working well together, the rest of it I’m not convinced. He’s had over 200 million to spend since he arrived . This is a missed opportunity in a season where everyone bar Liverpool and City have been largely shit.

And don't tell me about the substitutions, because a good defense can hold on for 5 fucking minutes at 10 men. And we were playing Soton not Real Madrid. I am not a massive Ole fan either but you really do have it in for him.

Did supporters really think we were going to canter into the CL with this team? Get a grip. Lets remember we are the form team since lockdown ended, some credit must be given to ole for that else there is no pleasing some people.

Yesterday sucked and this group of players is not mentally strong enough to make the most of given opportunities to advance.
There’s an over reliance on Bruno to be brilliant, which is a problem on days where he can’t pull any magic off.
The ref should have given a red on the tackle on Greenwood. Would’ve changed the game.
I know he scored a bunch of goals this season, including one last night, but Rashford needs to improve in front of goal if he wants to become a real world class player
I’m still optimistic that we somehow will finish 3rd. Chelsea will somehow beat Liverpool but will lose to an “easy” team, and we’ll maybe manage.
