Maguire and the art of no look defending...this in the lead up to the first goal... I’m sorry but that’s completely disingenuous. His man is to his left, which has been conveniently cropped out of the picture. Maguire did exactly what he was supposed to in this situation. I agree, this was not Maguires fault but a collective failure, however, i did point out during the game last night that as the move started to build the ball came out to the left where Lindelof followed their player down the touchline, the ball was there for him to easily stick the ball and player in to touch but he didn't, he did his usual, ran along side him without doing anything of note. You could see the move building and the overlap coming, as a defender your first job is to defend. He could have ended that move before it got anymore dangerous. But also no excuse for the others switching off there after but he is most culpable in my eyes.

Stewart mate...it was meant more as a joke...I saw the clip of this and you are right, there was a player coming through, just out of shot...but it does look quite funny, you have to agree... Just trying to lighten the mood a little... Having said that, Maguire wasn't great at times last night...

I really fear for next season. The board will say third is enough and that we'd be even higher if we'd had Bruno since August, so no need to improve. Then the team will already be shattered by mid-October, and we will start to seriously slide down the table.
I can genuinely, seriously see us doing worse than Moyes' 7th place if we do not improve the team and wider squad with multiple names. The team will just be totally shattered and unable to play football otherwise. Next season, far more than any before, will be all about squad depth and the gap between our best 14/15 players and the rest is as big as anyone's in the top half at least.

The progress from Ole has come from Bruno. Top player improves team. Again, don’t know how this is used against Ole. It isn't used against Ole, more the improvement cannot be used 'for' him. It doesn't work both ways. You cannot make excuses for the manager by saying the players aren't good enough and also give Ole the credit for good players being good.

Sorry. Needed the sarcasm font. Was continuing ratbag's black death humour by having a go at de Gea. Only an idiot would actually expect DDG to be out catching that. Was a wretched ball to defend.

I think most of us can agree Klopp is the best manager in the world now. How many trophies did he win in his first 2 and a half seasons with the scums ? If It took until the 3rd season even for him to turn that shitshow around then why do people excpect Ole to do it in his first season ?
And i really dont understand when people says there is no improvement , seriously guys , you have to be blind not to see improvements in martial , greenwood , rashford(before his injury atleast) and our genral attacking play. Our football is so much easier on the eye than the westbrom like stuff from Jose.
He is trying to clear deadwood as fast as someone can expect with that clown ed in charge. How many times have all of cursed vangaal and jose for sticking with lingards and fellainis.
Hindsight is great , but he thought his players on the pitch had a better chance of scoring than the shit on bench and decided to stick with them , it didnt work out , that is football , it happens sometimes.

Also table doesnt lie , we are 3rd best in the league. Doesnt matter 66 points or not , how is it any different from scouse claiming the season before they won x point which is more than what United ever did under fergie , or some morons on twitter claiming this city team is better than treble winning united because they had won y points which was more than we won in 99.
Each season dynamics are different , we are third best in the league no matter the points.

Ole had his worst game for a long time from a tactical and game management point of view. It was almost comical seeing the flurry of changes being made at the end of the game but who off the bench was a genuine game winner who could change the game? Mata, Ighalo and that’s about it. Our only chance was hoping for a moment of brilliance from one of our front 3, Bruno or Pogba. Ole knows what he has and it’s not much after our starting 11, which is why he commented on our lack of depth after the game. The football under Ole has been better, more attack oriented while generating more scoring chances. At the bare minimum all of us wanted to see an improvement in our football from an entertainment standpoint from Jose and Ole has mostly delivered on that. He needs to be backed this summer and given a chance to sign 3 or 4 players to improve our squad.

Klopp makes shit players look good. Like Fergie used to. You knew even with Rogers at Liverpool their defence was their Achilles heel. Under Klopp they struggled against a tight defence but they managed to overcome that . As much as he was mocked Klopp was always on a different level even early on. Solskjaer is basically learning on the job like Moyes did. This job is too big for both of them. He gets another year because that’s the level with these owners but I don’t expect anything different.

Juve sack Sarri despite winning the league.
As much as we may hold our nose up at it that is a big club mentality.
