Murtough is getting the benefit of the doubt from me as he’s had an excellent window so far. The Pogba one is the trickiest up to this point. I’d really be pushing a resolution on that if I were him. We need him to sign up or bugger off and replace him with Saúl or Neves. The easiest resolution is asking him to re-up for an extra year, so his deal runs out 2023, allowing us to keep his value, and allows other teams another year to sort their finances post Covid. But that's probably more simplistic than the situation is.

I think the Pogba situation gets resolved with him signing a new contract. The issue of course is Raiola and his tactics but also the idiotic precedent we set by paying Sanchez those insane wages. That’s likely the floor Raiola is negotiating from along with signing on fees, bonuses etc.

So City have made an offer of £100m for Grealish.
What a fuck up of epic proportions it was last summer going for the cheaper option in VDB.

OR what a fuck up of epic proportions by city for not convincing Sancho to stay. They wouldn’t have to move for Grealish in the first place and instead focused their attention on Kane.

Yeah I think Pogba and Raiola are mostly angling for a big fat pay rise trying to maximize the leverage they have by running down his contract so this will drag on into next summer.
I think it would undo a lot of the progress we've made so far this summer to cave and make him our highest wage earner especially as we have struggled for years to fit him into the team and get the best out of him. We already face the problem of having to offer massive wages to induce players to join us. And high wages is just as much a fixed cost as interest and dividends.
I think Real Madrid had the right approach making take it or leave it contract offers. We should call his and Raiola's bluff. If they find someone willing to pay more than we've got on the table good luck to them. And if he can show he is worth more next season then we can sweeten the offer accordingly.
But even if he does stay next season and even beyond I think we need to sign a number 6 this summer. Someone versatile like Saul or Camavinga would be good as we'd have the option of moving them to a number 8 if Pogba leaves and Donny doesn't look like ever making it here. We've replaced Lindelof as the weak link in our defence. But we also need to replace Fred as the weak link in our midfield if we want to win anything.

Yeah I think Grealish is doable. I think Kane is a lot more difficult as Levy is digging his heels in and Kane is not quite at the point where he is prepared to force a move (although next season could be another story). And I have a sneaking suspicion that Grealish could unbalance them as a team. Or they'll just sign both? I don’t think they’ll get both this summer though that’s just probably blind optimism.

Nope, it's our fuck up. If VDB turns up and Sancho does what’s expected then none of this matters. Enjoy the nice things like getting Sancho who was a prized young city asset.

Grealish for 100 million is absolutely ludicrous.

This Pogba situation is going to be difficult with that c**t of an agent, neither have any respect for the club I just want him gone for a decent fee and replaced with someone that wants to be here.

I'm of the same opinion. It would be nuts to give a player more money when his dedication to the cause is suspect at best. It's all wishful thinking with Pogba. What's changed to suggest giving him more money will make any difference.
