Making Pogba our highest wage earner would be a massive step back. It was a mistake giving Dave that massive deal but at least you can say he was our best player at the time. But I don't think Pogba would even make top five. I'd put Bruno, Shaw, Varane, Sancho, Rashford and Edi ahead of him. He's already on £290k which makes him one of the best earners in the Premier League and third highest earner at the club behind Dave and Sancho.
Probably doesn't help that we put Sancho on £350k a week. I don't think that was really necessary given he was on a fraction of that at Dortmund and no one else was after him.
What is crazy is we are only paying Varane £200k a week even though he's won more trophies than the rest of the team put together. And you can't use the excuse he is a defender when Dave is a goalkeeper on £375k and isn't even a guaranteed starter any more.
And no idea why we are still paying Martial £250k a week. It will be a struggle to get him off our books on those wages.
Apparently we are now paying over £300m a year in wages. That is a pretty significant fixed cost.
But bottom line Pogba has done nothing to merit a pay rise and is no longer even a guaranteed starter with Ole preferring McFred in big games. So if we insist on giving him a new contract it should be on pretty much the same wages with any uplift dependent on us winning trophies so he pulls his finger out.

Would anyone else take Ward-Prowse at circa £40 mill?

Would anyone else take Ward-Prowse at circa £40 mill? Lingard swap plush cash is an obvious one for mine.

Would anyone else take Ward-Prowse at circa £40 mill? Sure why not. It's always seemed a bit of an anomaly he hasn't moved to a top tier club already.

Murtough is getting the benefit of the doubt from me as he’s had an excellent window so far. The Pogba one is the trickiest up to this point. I’d really be pushing a resolution on that if I were him. We need him to sign up or bugger off and replace him with Saúl or Neves. The easiest resolution is asking him to re-up for an extra year, so his deal runs out 2023, allowing us to keep his value, and allows other teams another year to sort their finances post Covid. But that's probably more simplistic than the situation is. this is a good idea for the club, but what is his incentive to sign?

Would anyone else take Ward-Prowse at circa £40 mill? I think he's criminally underrated.

Grealish for 100 million is absolutely ludicrous. Thought Dr Pep had said earlier that it was “impossible “ to spend £100million” on a player as they “couldn’t afford it” Lying fucker!

Very funny rumour doing the rounds. Barcelona want to exchange Griezmann for Lindelof after their negotiations to exchange him for Saul fell through. They need to lower their wage bill and Koeman wants a defender.

From BBC Football Gossip: ‘Paul Pogba, 28, who has been heavily linked with a move to Paris St-Germain, can see a long-term future at Old Trafford, but the Frenchman may not sign a contract extension with the Red Devils this summer. (Sky Sports)’ Watch him stink the place out until he buggers off on a free next year.

Tatty is right, if they want that deal, you it. Throw is perreira to if it makes it quicker. Griezeman is a class operator and works damn hard too on the pitch, so far as he wages dial down under £300k a week do it.
I am massively surprised city haven’t made a cut price move for him, he would fit peps false nine like ice on coke
