Yeah as far as I'm concerned the only real improvement this season has been our run in the Europa League. Would be nice to win that trophy again but if we do that it will really be as good as it gets under Ole and a nice send off. Due to City’s early failings and the Scouse injury jinx, we were at least in the hunt for the title up until the end of Jan, which is ‘progress’ I suppose. But as you say, the journey to the final has added a bit of gloss to this year as opposed to last. That gloss can easily be wiped away if we lose next week however. |

Third to second without any title challenge emerging is not progress. Our goal difference is worse this season than before. We've scored 5 goals more than last, but conceded 7 more. This is in spite of having Bruno for an entire half season more so we can see the meagre difference in the GF column. The GA column is the actual indictment of his coaching and his ineptitude. Can't coach defense, can't get anything out of those lumps we have either. 3rd to 2nd, by a 5 point gap, in a league that was largely poor throughout. I am hard pressed to call this improvement in any way. Stagnation is a better assessment. |

On the surface of finishing 2nd is progress however when you scratch beneath the surface of it, I question the progress in some ways.
The scouse have had a poor season and we are going to finish a low single digits ahead of them.
City have had massive wobbles of recent and because we are just so disappointing we never capitalised or pushed them.
As some have mentioned, they have missed aguero and De Bruyne for large parts of the season and Sterling has been off the boil for 75% of the season.
We have massively fumbled since going top, there can be no masking or excusing that, I mean the manager was part of a serial winning team, same with Phelan and Carrick, how did they not prepare these players better.
We have seen Rashford, AWB and Bruno run into the ground, a shaky CB partnership. Whilst i appreciate some of the back ups are darn poor you have to question why we didn't ship out James or coach him the way Bielsa would? You wonder why Donny hasn't had a better run thus we can see what he does after 5 consecutive games.
The real progress will be winning the Europa league, but on current form that will be a real challenge and one that you would not place a bet on.
Once again it's another summer of saying we need 3 players to be competitive, what we need is a proper coach to bring the best of what we have and what comes in!

The final is huge for him but if he doesnt win the game he will still be here next season, im certain of that. Ole is a tactical lemon and lacks the personality and organisational skills of a top coach. We need better players if we want to go up another level and really compete but we need a coach who organise and not make the kinds of mistakes Ole has made throughout the season in key moments. |

I would say we need 5 players mate, Centre half, 2 x midfielders, Right wing and a Centre forward If we got quality at centre halve and someone who can pass a ball in midfield, we could compete with the others. This fred and mctominay partnership is soul destroying for me, you lose so many good things offensively when forced to play those two for others inability to play one vs one. If we just sign attacking players, i dont think we will improve enough as a team to really kick on. A CB like Varane would make a huge difference, more so than a striker. |

I would say we need 5 players mate, Centre half, 2 x midfielders, Right wing and a Centre forward Said the same recently, needs to be 5 starters that go straight into the starting 11,otherwise forget challenging City,they spend again,liverpool won't be as bad ,Chelsea will have a heavy spend,leicester will do what they have been doing & unearth a few gems that make them more of a threat! |
