Obviously Bruno and Pogba were great but Mason dazzled as well. Swear he just oozes RVP

Great performance, great result.
And achieved without Varane, Sancho, Cavani or Rashford.
Just kick on, please. No negativity after a result like that, but we have started seasons similarly with 4-0 wins over Everton and Chelsea in recent years.
If this could be like 2006 when we started by routing Fulham 5-1 and never looked back, that really would be marvelous.

We’re obviously going to have tougher tests than that, Leeds are pretty much the template for a team we’d do well against. Plenty of space in behind, they commit men forward which opens them up to quick breaks. Having said that, I absolutely hate them and thrashing them was a brilliant way to kick off the season.
We’ll get a better idea of where we are against the big sides and the teams that sit in against us, but I really enjoyed yesterday nonetheless.
Interesting stat I think Rustin posted about the amount of times we’ve scored five or more under Ole. We’ve still not won anything (yet) but games like those being more regular is a good indication that the football itself has improved massively on the whole.

Teams that park the bus are still the bogey for us. With someone like Sancho I hope that will change.

Yeah I’m hoping that now we have a genuine threat on the right side, it won’t be as easy for them to sit deep and frustrate us. Having an able body out there should enable us to pull them around a bit more. The last few seasons, the likes of Burnley have known exactly what we’re trying to do. Nullify the left hand side and that’s at least 75% of the job done against us. I’m also hopeful that Mason will push on even further this season and between him and a settled in Cavani, we’ll have a player who can finish chances off in those games where they’re a bit harder to come by.

Yeah I think there are going to be plenty of teams like Leeds that we will just swat aside effortlessly. Our attacking options are positively scary and hopefully Ole will continue to use Pogba in a free role which will give us a lot more scope to rotate our attacking roster and keep everyone fresh and firing on all cylinders.
I think we will do better against teams that park the bus as well. We usually have at least a goal in us and hopefully with Varane and the new set piece coach we will stop conceding so many sloppy goals. And of course Sancho will help massively as he will give us some genuine width to stretch teams.
It is other Big 6 clubs and in Europe where I am worried we will continue to fall short. McFred isn't good enough to control games and is vulnerable to a press and while we might do better with a 4-3-3 that demands a lot more from Pogba than his current role where he is free to roam and doesn't have to defend. He can do that role for France....but still a question mark whether he can consistently for us especially without a top quality CDM alongside him. And I just don't see us winning any trophies with McFred in midfield. Just as England did with Phillips and Rice we will eventually get unstuck when we come up against a quality midfield.

Good to see MOTD back on BBC1, and although I’ve listened to the theme tune since I was about 8 ,a looooooooong time ago, it still gives me butterflies!

Missed the game yesterday due to a weekend away(the missus banned me from finding a pub in Salisbury to watch it in)so I have just watched it on MOTD after getting back.
Looked a top performance but only seeing the highlights I couldn’t tell if that was down to us or Leeds.
Probably a bit of both.

Watching the goals again, can someone else please point out that Maguire didn't even attempt to close Ayling down when it was fairly clear the only option was to shoot, and also that Maguire actually turned his back on the shot?
If I say it I'll just be called negative.

And Pogba, who admittedly isn’t necessarily tasked with tackling back, but still, could of done a bit more IMO.
