Just quickly on the Sancho & Varane thing.
With no training done, and having had to quarantine, Tammy Abraham was thrown straight into the Roma team at the weekend. Didn't score, but made 2 goals.
But of course you can't start your new signings, oh goodness no.

It’s probably something so idiotic that we’d be so baffled those types of thoughts actually go thru his head. Probably something along the lines of “we’re Man Utd, the stage is so big, massive club, we don’t want to pile the pressure on Sanchy and Raffy.”

I can't think of any other club who isn't playing their new signings. it wouldn't be too bad if they were being kept out by other top class, in form players. But Martial and Lindelof starting ahead of Sancho and Varane? And some people actually still come on here and defend him??

He still doesn’t play Donny despite the obvious deficiencies in our midfield. I can’t defend him anymore. This squad will succeed despite Ole not because of him.

But of course you can't start your new signings, oh goodness no. It is mind boggling. It’s especially confusing when you see who’s playing instead of them, because the reality is.. even semi fit Sancho and Varane are better than fully fit Dan James, Lindelof, or Maguire.

Ole as boss is basically equivalent to a 10-15 point deduction over the course of a season.
He took a team that Jose took to 2nd place with 81 points, spent a ton of money, and finished on 66 points and 74 points in his first two seasons. The same kind of point total that LVG used to finish on. And didn't win any cups. In other words a very strange definition of progress.
We will get more points this season simply because Varane and Sancho are so very good. But whereas Klopp achieved another 20 points a season after adding VVD and Salah and Allisson I cannot see Ole managing more than another 5-10 points or so from Varane and Sancho. So perhaps 80-85 points. And that will be well short of what it takes to win the title. But Ole will probably consider it progress.

I actually think we’ll be at around the same point total as last year. This season it’ll be worth 4th place. We’ll lose more points away from home and get more points at home. If only there was some visible progress in how we are playing. That’s what really gets me.. this feeling of standing still.

I think he’s going to get found out now fans are back in stadiums. Imagine getting embarrassed by Liverpool, Sheff U , Arsenal, Palace and Spurs at home with full crowds . I’m convinced that’s why our away record was so good last season.

I think we have stronger opposition this season for top 4. I wouldn’t be surprised if City, Chelsea and Pool nail top 3. I don’t think his negative approach will work this season.

Ole has been very lucky as in his first full season 66 points was good enough for 3rd place and last season 74 points was good enough for 2nd place. I don't see that being true this season. I think it will take at least 80 points to finish in the top 3 and probably at least 90 points to win the title.
Sancho and Varane all things being equal should add at least 10 points a season. But Ole being Ole will find a way to fuck it up.
e.g. trying to justify his decision to retain fringe players like Martial, Lindelof, James and Matic by giving them ample gametime e.g. playing three at the back in big games now he has more options in central defence. e.g. rushing Rashford back from surgery so he suffers another injury setback e.g. trying to ease Sancho into the team and if he is a bit inconsistent at first go back to playing Greenwood on the right
