Let’s show Ronaldo why he was right to come home.

No Scotty. No Ronaldo. No Rashford. Ole reluctant to start Varane and Sancho and raving about Lingard's pre-season. Fred, Matic, James, Lingard and Martial all in contention for a starting place. Hopefully we will be able to do enough to get 3 points but Wolves looked pretty useful against Tottenham. I don't have a great feeling about tomorrow. Hopefully Wolves won't ask too many questions of our midfield and Ole has the sense to start with Greenwood upfront and give Varane and Sancho their debuts. We should then be able to get a result.

This is a must-win, even at this stage, given a preposterous international break immediately follows. 7 points out of 9 is just about acceptable given we had 2 away games.

Hard to read into this game, considering yesterdays news and the mere fact that Ole has seriously struggled against Wolves, Nuno Espírito Santo has left them to join Tottenham and they have new manager. Wouldn´t exactly shock me if we saw more of the same against southampton.

This is usually a dull dour even a boring fixture, hopefully we go and grind out a win.

It’s depressing when we have the talent but play the average instead.

Please fucking win. Dropping points in 2 winnable away games in a row can't happen if we want to be in a title race.

Ole in the pre-match presser gave his reasoning for playing Fred and Matic in central midfield.
"Of course, we started against Leeds with the team that we picked and the 5-1 win was, of course, a justification of the team selection. Of course, it always is. Then we moved to the next one, Scott couldn’t play and Nemanja has been our best player in the pre-season, I have to say, that’s why I chose Nemanja. He’s been terrific. So I went with them two"
In other words he felt he couldn't drop Fred because he played in a team that won 5-1 against Leeds even though that result was all about Scotty, Pogba, Bruno and Greenwood and he chose to replace Scotty with Matic because Matic had a few good pre-season games against Championship teams and a pretty pathetic Everton side. And we also know that if Lingard hadn't got COVID he would have started the first two games based on his pre-season form.
It is quite sad really. He is trying to be logical and make the right decisions. But he still gets it wrong.

The potential of this team won't be unlocked as long as he's in charge.

The potential of this team won't be unlocked as long as he's in charge. A comparison would be having one of the best cars in formula one but an average driver.
