Our first window in a long time without Ed. Does that mean we will be competent in the market...?
No, of course not. What was I thinking?!

Can we pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease leave the Woowar & Glazer stuff in their respective threads?
Anyway:
Really hoping we're looking at Adeyemi at Salzburg. 6 goals in 3 games so far at 19 years old.

Romano linking us with Tielemans, doubtful for January though, would have to be next summer surely to even stand half a chance.
Would defo make a move for Bissouma in January

On the plus side, having Ronaldo at the club surely adds a bit more draw for players to want to come

Yeah be nice to make a move before he ends up going to Germany next summer, although that seems like the obvious choice for the player

This window i suspect will be a 'sell' window. Bailly, Lingard, Martial and Matic maybe if we are getting a DM in.
The players mentioned for sale will likely and should want proper gametime, can't see them getting it with us thus sales should be the order of the day.

Jan window will be a shit load of loans again. Start of a World Cup year, Tony and Lingard will definitely be sniffing around their respective national sides...

We have a shit MF and sticking a lump DM in front of defenders won't solve it! That's what Southgate does and wins fuck all, even though he gets the easiest fucking draw to the final ever!
Rice for 90m is way worse than the Maguire business and that was bad! We need someone with a better range of passing and more ability on the ball. Neves was an excellent option for us. He is a really good character has a lot of ability and level up to go!
We never seem to just incrementally improve these areas each year, it's all or fucking nothing delay and everyone marks us up on mediocrity when we become desperate, like Fred or Wan Bissaka
Lingard has not accepted a contract extension( what a surprise) and Pogba will probably fuck off next year on a free. Fred isn't going to improve and Matic was shit and finished 2 years ago! It will all be about Midfield now and we'll waste this year and another year trying to buy 2/3 players

We could have done some business last January when we were still in the title race and made it a lot closer as well as probably winning the Europa. So I do not think we have the ambition to do any business this January either. Our transfer "gurus" are too busy lining up Pogba replacements for next summer and dreaming about Haaland.
Bissouma only has two years left on his contract so his value is declining fast so Brighton could probably be tempted by a bid for £40M or so in January. Although I suspect Manchester City will also be interested as they need to replace Fernandinho in the near future. But that feels far too obvious for us. I think Trippier is a lot more likely if AWB continues to struggle for form and Dalot isn't given a proper chance.
I can also see Donny and Tony agitating for a loan move with the World Cup next summer.
I have no idea what we will do with Lingard. Maybe we can work something out whereby we get him to sign a new contract and in return loan him out to give him a chance at winning a place in the World Cup squad and then try and sell him next summer. But much more likely Ole will hang on to him and he will continue to stall on the contract and leave on a free next summer.
