See what the group looks like after the 6 games but if we don't get out of this group then something has to give, I just don't see them sacking him this season. I'm trying to focus on the positives for now and see how this season fares. If it's not an improvement on last season then a change of manager (again) may be the only option going forwards. A change is needed now. Whether it's a Queiroz type appointment to be the tactician to Ole's vibes or a whole new backroom team. Not sure where you heard this. We'll know where we stand by early December at the latest. I think sacking Ole for failing to reach the knockout stages of the Champions League is more than reasonable considering he failed to do so last year as well, has the easiest group, was backed heavily in the summer, and this is a competition that Liverpool and Chelsea have both won in recent years. Conte will still be available and maybe we can persuade Zidane to end his sabbatical and reunite with Ronaldo and Varane.
But Ole seems to always get lucky. He should have been sacked in the 19/20 season but then we went into lockdown and Bruno arrived and hit the ground running and sparked an incredible winning run. So I expect we will scrape through this group and just about stay within touching distance of the pack leaders for much of the season and maybe make the semis or even the finals of one of the domestic cups but ultimately fall short and end up trophyless again. Another wasted season. Conte and Zidane might by then be off the market. And the Glazers probably still won't pull the trigger.
