Appears to me, like Ralf is throwing the players, he believes are responsible for throwing 2 managers under a bus, under the same bus before they do it to someone else whilst he's involved in the club. I very much appreciate this take. Go Ralfie go!

If he stays it is for the money. £8M a year isn't bad and while he is admired in the game he isn't exactly highly in demand for managerial jobs. But yeah it beggars belief that with us sitting outside the top 4 the Board refuse to splash the cash using the weak excuse that Ralf is only a temporary manager. Ole was allowed to splash hundreds of millions with zero track record. Ralf has proven himself to be a savvy operator in the transfer market and has fantastic contacts in the game so especially for such a modest outlay we should trust that whoever he wants to sign in January will improve the squad and benefit the next manager. Ralf wants to play a 4-3-3. But the only player capable of anchoring the midfield is Matic who no longer has the legs. It is a pathetic situation to be in. But I guess that is what happens when you are run by people who know nothing about football and hate spending money. We’re 4th. Glazers don’t need to act. 😇

I really really wonder, do these players actually not want to succeed? Or is the money they earn just so large that they do not care.

I really really wonder, do these players actually not want to succeed? Or is the money they earn just so large that they do not care. They have already succeeded by the only metric that matters to them, which is the money. Probably hard to sit there in your early 20’s with millions upon millions of pounds in the bank and think “I need to work harder”. That’s what separates our lot from the actual elite level professionals we need.

its not even about money, its attitude. Ronaldo, Messi, De Gea, Mbappe, Thiago Siva, Haaland, Foden, have all been paid a fortune from a young age yet the apply themselves completely.
it doesnt help when they havent been coached and can see from the top down where the clubs ambitions lie.
they wouldnt act like that under Fergie, Pep, Klopp, etc.

For most of these guys the money and prestige of playing for United means in their mind they are success already. Toxic owners and the circus surrounding the club ensures they keep getting benefit of doubt.

This is why you have to sign players with the right attitude and come down hard on those who fail to meet the standards. Once you let anything go, your done for. We have alot of average players who can't believe they play for utd. You can see this because there all happy sitting on the bench and running down contracts instead of moving and getting game time. Jesse is the perfect example of such a player. The money is undoubtedly a factor, what footballers earn at utd is vastly different than what they will earn elsewhere and no one likes taking a paycut unless forced to do so.

Lingard wanted to leave. The cunts up top didn't allow him to. I mean I want him gone as much as anybody but this has to be clarified because that would be unfair.

Yeah it's harsh on Jesse.
He's an immature pain in the arse, but works his socks off whenever he's been given games, and openly wants out to play 1st team football somewhere else (undoubtedly on less money); he can't be called a slacker like so, so many others we have.
I think the main issue is the amount of players who have come here, or come into the 1st team, and just stalled, thinking they've made it big on big time money and just stop giving a shite.
The mental attitude amongst this group is beyond belief. De Gea, Ronaldo, Varane, Bruno, and Cavani are the only ones I'd consider to have the elite mentality and drive to improve and win. The rest are charlatans. Sancho gets a pass as he's new, lets give him time. But so far he's hardly made me stand up and notice his incredible talent.

So now he's said top four is an achievement. Fuck this experiment. So much for this club needing to win trophies.
Looks like Ralf is just here for the ride.

Does Ralf not simply mean, that given the circumstances, with everything that's been going on and confidence on the floor when he took over and the plethora of bad attitudes, that 4th place would be an achievement, because lets be honest it bloody would be, i don't think he's saying that's what we should be aiming for moving forward.
And lets be honest, does anyone on here really think we'll get 4th, not many of us i'm sure, if anyone at all. So again what he's said is accurate.
