dont know why they bother with Evra he talks rubbish. its ex players etc that will be the downfall of this club spouting the DNA bollocks. times change move on. Hope Carrick goes on to become a decent manager himself, really likeable guy. talks well and a proper football thinker. go to a well run Lower Premier league club, Championship club or even have a venture in Scotland like Gerrard did. Any ex utd player spouting this bollocks in future should just have the Lampard being replaced with Tuchel argument thrown right back at them. Case closed.

Will be so good to have proper press conferences. Ole embarassed himself every time he spoke to the press. So it is good to have a manager with a plan as opposed to a manager who just winged it and relied on momentum and good vibes and heavy backing from the owners.
I think the turnaround could be even more impressive than at Chelsea. Ole was in the job twice as long as Lampard so did twice as much damage in terms of under-coaching and lack of direction/team identity.

"I will look for three or four more staff to join in the next one or two weeks, but due to the Brexit rules it is not that easy. I hope we can get them in here in the next one or two weeks, but I cannot tell you any names."
Above looks quite encouraging. RR definitely won't be giving jobs to the boys and with his contacts and connections he can easily poach some real top top experienced coaches.
'They have been very clear about a six-and-a-half month role... I may recommend they continue working with me for one more year.'
Also promising. I think a year and a half would give a lot more time to set us on the right course and recruit the right players to bring balance to the team and establish a coherent team identity and playing style and get us back to winning ways. I'm not convinced someone like Pochettino or Rodgers or Ten Hag would be capable of doing that. At least not in such a short space of time.

Definitely won't be hearing shit like 'giving it a go' with this guy.The last time I heard a Utd manager talk about control was during the Jose years.
Slight chance Ralf might do his back trying to raise the bar the way it's so low.

Palace (h) Young boys (h) Norwich (a) Brentford (a) Brighton (h) Newcastle (a) Burnley (h) Wolves (h) Villa (a) - 15th Jan West Ham (h) Burnley (a) Soton (h) Leeds (a) Watford (h) Man City (a) - 5th March Spurs (h) liverpool (a)
every game up to City i expect to win. obviously we wont win them all and there will be some hiccups potentially Villa in January, but we should be back in the top 4 by the end of december

I know he’s an ardent Anglophile, but crikey, Ralf speaks better English than a lot of English people I know !

It's all pretty obvious stuff he is talking about really. I mean the dog on the street knows we concede too much and there has been too much change and reaction to have any sort of consistency.
I was happy he said that it's not just about pressing for the sake of pressing, it's about control. We can't control a game or hang on to the ball. I actually think we have the best attacking squad in world football right now. You could put out two or three teams of attacking players, but the coordination between midfield and defense is a sham.
I really believe that some hard decisions need to be made about MF players getting turfed out and some really good technical players brought in. The same with one or two full backs! It became particularly bad under Solskjaer, like watching a basketball game attack to defense end to end. It was always one trick pony football with Ole and he should have made better decisions on that midfield. It was a problem in Mourinho's time and Matic was a 2 year short term fix 5 years ago.
That team has Varane, Shaw, Pogba and Cavani to come back into it. They have spent a fortune on bringing more players into the attack and on defense and we still have the same shit centre mids from 4 years ago.
Anyway in the medium to longer term at least there is someone at the club with some power talking about a vision and consistency. He sounds like he is someone who can influence the board in the right direction, let's see if he can execute that.

Ruben Neves having another top season in a tiny ordinary Wolves squad! Just saying Ralf in January we could do a lot worse

Control is definitely what has been lacking. At best under Ole we were a useful counter attacking side but that as a tactic is very reactive. I want to see us dominating and I want to see us going head to head in the big games.

He has a plan, but we play 7 times before the end of 2021. It’s going to be next season before we see any fruits of his labour.

Palace are a good side. Very physical and strong. Should be playing them off the park, but that’s the toughest of the lot, imo. Edit: also, it was more, there’s going to be a lot more recovery than there’s going to be actual training/coaching. He could work miracles. Especially if he gets the lads he wants in to coach, but let’s not lose our collective shit if things don’t click straight away.
