This is like a mid-season friendly you arrange in Championship Manager because the player you want to scout is in an inactive League and you just throw out the reserves on 'Very Fast' match settings.

Lets face it, we are riding our luck defensively and the opposition are not very good up front, luckily this is just a way of Rangnick getting a quick look at what we have in reserve. Overall based on tonight its not looking good for many of these players long term futures at the club.

Mengi has looked good, not sure about the rest of the youngsters, not alot there to get too excited about, maybe they'd look better coming in to a stronger side

Benfica please, classic old European name, Manchester United vs Benfica is a great European fixture, but one we should be winning.

Enjoyed most of the first half. Intensity dropped in the 2nd and it was a little all over the place but we finished the game with Tom Heaton in goal, Mengi at right back, two academy kids in midfield and a couple more up front. All about getting some rest into the first team and giving game time to some of the kids, and Tom Heaton.

Onwards and upwards. that’s the difference ole would have had Bruno,Ronnie,rashford and mcfred on the bench and would have used the first 3 to win this dead rubber but putting more strain on those players. |
