He is not a Manchester United legend and the petulance he has shown over the past week ensures that.

You can read my reasons a few posts back. Sure a brilliant footballer and the absolute best, will be remembered 20 years from now for sure. United legend? At least the 3 you mentioned played their best football at United and never tried to force a move elsewhere, won everything there was at United. Sure you can say Rooney tried and failed to move to Chelski still he was at United during the best footballing years.
Ronaldo abandoned a United team built solely around him forcing Fergie to rebuild yet again... fucked off to Real helping them win everything there was, only came back to us when his best years are behind him, not to forget the 500k a week he is on.
Yea sure United Legend!

Fergie had to rebuild because of the Glazers. Owners who he continually backed. Did Ronaldo chose to sign all the dross we did when he left ? Whose fault was that ?

No one is denying the parasites that are the Glazers but Ronaldo choose to leave and forced the club to sell him. No one wanted him to leave at the time, why would United sell?
Not sure what your point was there with that post to be honest.

The Glazers were probably having a party when they got that fee. He won every trophy he could here, although I was gutted when he left I understood it. I’m bitter about what the club did afterwards to rectify it though.

You are a United supporter. You play for Real Madrid and have become the best player in the world. You have just won the League, the European Cup, and the Ballon D'Or. United publicly state they want to make you the most expensive transfer in history, but your manager who is a second father figure asks you to stay for another season, which you agree to. Then you get your dream move. It really isn't that difficult to see things from Ronaldo's perspective.

Also worth remembering he chose to join us over Manchester City where he would have been guaranteed to win trophies. Of course Ronaldo detractors like to say it was a question of money. But Manchester City have a similar wage structure to us and could have easily met his demands.
Also when most of the current squad (new arrivals excluded) downed tools last season he finished 3rd highest goal scorer in the league and almost single handedly got us through the Champions League group stages.
After being professional and making the best of a bad situation he asked to leave the club and was priced out of a move by the Glazers. He had a rough time losing his baby and missed pre-season to be with his family and Erik used that as an excuse to leave him out of the team just giving him occasional run outs as an impact sub and Europa League starts. He didn't get any minutes against City even though we played like crap and got hauled off against Newcastle when the service was at fault and then at Tottenham only offered the chance to be a final substitution when the game was practically over.
So you can understand how he feels disrespected and messed around. He is 37 years old and wants to play football but despite all his achievements in the game he has been reduced to a bit part role.

They won everything and kept doing it year in year out. Ronaldo did the same at Real and won more even yet he didnt say he wanted to leave cause he won all he could did he? only when his relationship with the board broke down did he choose to do so. You guys are smoking some strong shit to come up with all this excuses for the man.

Of course it wasnt just the money, he knew the backlash and City by all accounts were considering it not pushing for it. At the end of the day Ronaldo's agent was the one pushing for the move to City as it was the only option available for him at the time. He was desperate to get out of Juventus. He could have said no but he didnt. Of course United found out and it took Fergie and a bunch of ex-players to convince him to move to United.
If he is such a United through and through would he have needed any convincing?
Like I said the amount of excuses for the man is beyond belief.
BTW it was the same team vs Spurs that played Newcastle a few days before, only change Ronaldo, we won 2-0.
Ronaldo doesnt score, its the teams fault for not finding him.... good excuse there
No disrespect from ETH at all, you dont perform you dont play, its simple really. Its a team game not a Ronaldo game.

Only when his relationship with the board broke down did he force it but even by then he was on a decline. He left United just before the top of his game, he could have done it at United but choose not to.. So much for a legend. Completely with you on the Glazers and Fergie with the fee but again if Ronaldo wasnt pushing for a move we would have only go on and won a few more UCL trophies maybe instead of watching Real do the same.

Regardless of what you think about his role now, it’s silly to go back and argue the history. Before ballon d’ors, mega sponsor deals and Bugattis he wanted to play for Madrid, that was a well known fact of when not if. He came here won it all in some style so let’s not shit on the past. I’m sure you wouldn’t be caught dead saying “so much for a legend” prior to his return.

Completely support ETH in this whole Ronaldo incident , Refusing to come on when the manager calls and then leaving the stadium when your team is playing well is just bad behavior. No excuses there.
I can understand Bestie's and Karma's points if he is starting every game and banging in every half chance we create , but he is not.
He spent most of the pre season trying to force his way out of the club , he pulled the same stunt in the preseason game against Rayo , Ronaldo cant keep doing this. His age is also a factor here , fans and the manager will have much less patience for a player approaching 38 than someone in their early 20s.

I've never held a beef with Ronaldo going to Madrid, in the long run it was the right move because look where both clubs are now. For me legendary status is hard to acquire and a requirement is surely playing out your best years at this club. I think it's time we put the Ronaldo stuff to one side, he's apologised and been kicked out of the match day squad. I understand we have little patience for petulance after the likes of Henderson, Jesse and Pogba but you never got a fucking apology from any of those clowns.
