I suppose it means that Tuchel rejected us again.
INEOS will just have to learn the hard way.
I think they are far too confident that the new structure will somehow magically change our fortunes on the pitch. But they've already spent £200m this summer and our form is just as bad as the end of last season. Wilcox is supposedly overseeing training sessions and presumably giving advice but it doesn't seem to be making any kind of difference. Brailsford and Wilcox are presumably talking to the players as well and listening to their concerns.
It really shouldn't take an ace detective to realize that Erik has become a huge part of the problem. The players seem confused and overwhelmed by his tactical instructions. We are a total mess on the pitch. The game management and selections are becoming more and more bizarre.
Do they really want to wait until top 4 is out of reach before making a change?

This to me is a continuation of the fuck about when Sir Jim and the Oil mafia were bidding for our club. This process took on a time defying and frustrating path that only the Glazers could manage to achieve. Then after that ordeal we had the staff hires again dragging on for what seemed like an eternity when the crunch summer transfer window was opening.
INEOS has got to put together a proper managerial plan. I would argue that the next manager should be a winner and know how to deal with player egos, and have a player transfer draw that would provide the final decision of that player coming to us.
Give me Zizou to turn our club around…

By not sacking ETH after last season Ineos have got themselves into this mess - no top class manager available for permanent position, a temporary manager risks not being taken seriously by the players who may down tools knowing they will get another chance.

We're fucked until they sense a bottom half finish is likely. Why they can't see it coming now is beyond me. it's happening

The question is; how long?

The question is; how long? You'd genuinely think he could not embarrass himself anymore than he already has but I think we will all see that he can and it will end in a messy way. All fingers will be on INEOS and rightly so. As far as I am concerned, he was well equipped this summer to do a better job, INEOS really are just eroding the good will they built in the summer with the way they bought and sold.

INEOS have made quite a lot of managerial changes at Nice and they tend to be mid-season and they have often made interim appointments so that is encouraging at least and means we don't necessarily have a situation like last summer when Erik kept his job because there was no stand-out permanent replacement interested and available.
We've had our worst place finish in Premier League history. That was partly offset by the FA Cup win and INEOS agreed to give Erik a contract extension and see how he does under the new structure.
We've had our worst start in Premier League history. INEOS seem to have decided to give Erik some more time to see if he can turn things around. And I think they were expecting a slow start to the season with the inconvenient injuries to Hojlund, Shaw and Yoro, the inadequate pre-season, and quite a number of new signings to bed in.
But I think if Erik cannot turn things around in a reasonable period of time (say 10 games) they will pull the trigger. And that will correspond to sometime in December which is consistent with their approach at Nice.
Far from ideal. But better than sticking with Erik the whole season and at least it gives us 20-30 games to assess the players under a new manager with a different approach.

Pretty much. I think they have been soured by their Nice experience.
When INEOS took over Nice they immediately declared they wanted Champions League football within "three to five years" and "to challenge PSG". Instead they've bounced between 5th place and 9th place and gone through quite a few managers without any real discernible progress.
They probably think that the new structure can help Erik turn things around.
I don't think they have yet fully appreciated that Erik has become a huge part of the problem.

Major club? That's him ruled out with a return then.

Major club? That's him ruled out with a return then. It frightened me, because United would be the only major club that would appoint Ole. That said, I could get behind Ole / Ruud as caretaker until the end of the season!

Ole is a logical choice as caretaker manager. He’s the perfect antidote to Erik just as he was to Jose.
Ruud is less qualified for the role and apparently he’s reluctant to takeover from Erik as it might be perceived as backstabbing and he’s reportedly very principled. But he’d probably be fine continuing as assistant manager working with ole.
It then gives us until the summer to find a suitable long term replacement and we can be very open about our search without being seen to be undermining oles position because it’s made clear ole is just a caretaker manager
And if ole can get a better tune out of the players it makes the job more attractive to potential managerial candidates

One thing that needs to end is this Dutch league link with players. If anything its shown how low we've lowered our standards to.
Not a single one is either good enough or can stay fit.

What is ineos actually expecting him to do next, his tactics is shit and he consistently priotised wrong positions to strengthen.
Now we have end up with this medeocre mentally weak sqaud.
Honestly at this point i will gladly have Lukakku back. Next manager will have to spend some serious money to get that attack upto speed.
