The 2018 thread is here. The top prediction was first; we finished sixth. No one clicked sixth in the poll, though points to Chris for saying '6th, 7th, 8th... no chance of top 4.' The 2019 thread is here. The joint top predictions were fifth and below eighth; we finished third. Six people clicked third in the poll, with GeniusCantona , Pixel , RAZ and Ole's Red Whiteknight03 Army all getting full marks for mentioning third in their posts. Chris didn't replicate his previous correct call, though he wasn't far off saying that we could get 4th if we had a couple of good signings after Maguire came in. (The back four pages of the 2019 thread are particularly dispiriting - genuine talk of a bottom half finish around October time.) The 2020 thread is here. The top prediction was seventh; we finished second, which only one anonymous person voted for. Kudos to Diablo Rouge for going for third amongst a sea of predictions we'd finish outside the top four. The 2021 thread is here. The top prediction was second; we finished sixth, which only one anonymous person voted for. kstandhand and Karma get points for being the most negative with their 'struggle for top four' predictions. Great analysis RC, love the work 👏👏 I will go 3rd, again.

I think I said 7th, so we surpassed that quite comfortably.
Some really disappointing moments this season, like properly devastating ones. But winning a trophy again and securing third definitely outweighs that.
I’m expecting us to take a bit of a battering in the cup final, but I’ve already come to terms with that so I’ll be happy with the season regardless.

I think we could have easily finished 7th if we hadn't signed Casemiro!

I went for 5th but I can’t remember if it was pre or post Casemiro when I voted.
I didn’t foresee Liverpool and the rents being so shit nor Newcastle being having the season they did.

Cas and the butcher were massive for us, as well as Varane when fit. He is such a wonderful player. I know Dave had some howlers, but he also produced some incredible saves this season. AWB really has come on under the new manager although his positioning can still be questionable sometimes. Luke Shaw kicked on with some competition, and he really impressed when asked to play CB. Maguire must know his time as a footballer is done 😂 Cas - no words! Maybe if we had him a couple of years sooner he could have had the Cantona effect, he is that important to the match day team. As much as Bruno winds me up with his moaning, we also miss him when he isn't playing. Congrats to Rashford on his goal tally. I want 40 next season. Garnacho really is going to be a special player. His directness must be absolutely terrifying to play against! Fred definitely ups his game, as well as Vic in defence, when given quality partners to play with. As for Anthony, he really needs to work on his right foot when he's back from injury, far too predictable.
I am looking forward to seeing Amad next season as well as Pellestri unless they go out on loan.
Special mention to Steve McLaren, I always think back to 99 when everyone was losing their shit when Sheringham equalised and he was cool as fuck on the sidelines. Top bloke.
Now win the FA cup and catch fucking Arsenal. It really pisses me off they have won it more than us.

Below 8th btw. With these shitehawks. Think this was with Maguire starting and no Casemiro.

12th, playing beautiful football but squad decimated by injury by the end of September and never recovers. I obviously meant Chelsea, without the beautiful football and injuries

For the fifth season in a row, we have collectively gotten it wrong over whether we'd get top four or not!
