Really both Mourtough and Arnold would be sacked at most big clubs after such a poor window. They got a new coach and immediately failed him in the only area they need to perform in.

1 37 year old want away striker with no pre-season.
There is no coach anywhere who could compete in this League with that! They knew ETH was coming 6 months ago and knew all of these players were leaving and what was needed!

martinez wasnt perfect today but still the best player with eriksen. all new signings look like improvements but martinez looks promising. confident and will definitely not get bullied around despite his size, the guy seems stronger and tougher than most others. looking at his highlights from the last years, he is just tackling and body checking tall and big players around.
good to have a bastard like that back in there. would love to see him and varane start most games. varane as as the rolls royce, martinez doing the dirty work.

Terrible performance from all involved, we should have faced a penalty kick to go 3 nil behind and should have lost one or both of McTominay and Martinez. on a plus note things can only get better. Rashford needs a spell in the reserves and Bruno also needs a wakeup call. Martinez is too small for an EPL defender.

Funny how he's been in so many defensive pairings, but never the one dropped. He’s made 4 more than decent defenders look like keystone cops now. I hate him. Hope he gets caught drinking at the World Cup and gets left to rot in one of their prisons. |

Serious questions need to be asked if Garnacho, Ronaldo, Iqbal and Donny aren’t starting vs Brentford. All 4 would bring more than the lads they’d replace; Rashford, Fred, McTom and Bruno.

I agree, I was calling for Garnacho to replace Rashford much earlier, but they need to buy experienced players of quality! We needed 6 or 7 players in this window and I don't understand why people think that's too much or not possible. Chelsea are doing it and Spurs and Arsenal are close to it and they haven't lost half as many senior players. |

I get the sentiment that we’ve wasted all summer holding on to the hope FDJ would sign because of ETH, but what we were seeing out today is not on him. We are 5-6 players short from being a decent side. The fuckers running the club would’ve needed to spend 200-300mil this summer, it was never gonna happen.
It’s not even a case of gradual squad evolution because we literally fixed zero of the many problems in the squad this summer.
