Poor recruitment is the #1 problem. Funds are not unlimited under the Glazers but the same is true at other clubs like Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool who have spent better in recent years. We also are not prioritizing very well. We put off buying a CDM for far too long and have resorted to stop gap solutions for the number 9 position ever since we sold Lukaku. We've spent almost £200m on wingers. Two are on loan and still 3 years on nowhere near the first team. The other two are in the squad and both look quite limited and certainly not worth the huge amounts spent on them. We've let so many players leave on frees missing the chance to get £15m for Lingard and we let the Pogba situation drag on too long instead of selling him for £30m a few years back. AWB is another one we should have sold in the summer. And selling Garner seems very short sighted when he was never given a proper chance to fight for a place in the team. Ten Hag should have walked away from the Antony deal. But of course Murtough is partly to blame. If we'd tried to sign Antony earlier in the window he would have been a lot cheaper. But regardless as soon as the price started climbing to 100m euros Erik should have surveyed his squad and realized that we had enough wide options to get by this season but with Ronaldo unsettled, Martial unreliable and Rashford not a natural finisher and unproven as a number 9 a recognized CF should have been the priority. Midfield I think it is unfortunate that Donny hasn't kicked on under Ten Hag. Selling Garner was also a mistake. Casemiro and Eriksen should have been enough. As it is going in for Tielemans in January offering Donny in part exchange seems like a good solution and will allow us to prioritize our summer spend on a top class CF. Annoying thing is that ETH should have been ruthless with Donny. Came in, saw him and was shocked but they put it down to confidence, reality is they should have cashed in really. I know hindsight is a wonderful thing and no one expected Donny's injuries but for the life of me when are we going to have a ruthless, no mercy transfer window? AWB isn't kicking a ball so the value further falls, Williams the same, Tuanzebe the same, the list goes on! At some point we need to just simply take a massive hit, accept we overpaid for players that aren't good enough, get them out and start again. Forget what they did 3, 4 or 5 years ago and just try and sell em. This stuff just makes my blood boil.

After Fred’s diabolical displays over the last 4 days, Tielemans should be signed the minute the window opens. The way things are going at Barca though, we might get FDJ? I agree though if he is there and his price is cheap, but both would be ideal!

I didn't think we were that bad yesterday. It wasn't a great game and I didn't expect it to be. I thought it would be tight and they are on form with a very physical well organised side, that haven't been conceding many goals. I thought we were good in the second half and looked organised and controlled and we should have buried two chances and had a good(weird) goal disallowed and a stonewall penalty not given.
AS far as the subs concerned, Rashford got behind and gave Fred a glorious chance he should have scored and Rashford should have scored that header! That kind of game you just can't afford to miss two glorious opportunities like that!
We have a problem with finishing now and Fernandes isn't chipping in at all either. Losing Martial, was a problem, he has been involved with a lot of goals as he was getting back, but can't rely on his fitness either.
Two massive games now, but think we're just going to struggle for the rest of the season, with what we lack in finishers, despite some good work and improvements in general play!

Our biggest problem is we can't break teams down and struggling in front of goal is making it 10x worse. As soon as teams drop everyone behind the ball we struggle and they can see it.

Think De Jong was making statements last week about wanting to stay at Barca and not being interested in United or Chelsea’s offers. No point pursuing this any further. Embarrassing enough as it is.

I just dont get why everyone seems to think that a creative midfielder will solve this issue? Even with Eriksson in the side we arent a free scoring team, We're the only team in the 10 that have a negative GD.
A proper striker not only gets goals but finds and creates space around him. We havent got that. We look better with Martial in the side, we scored as soon as he comes on because he does offer that kind of movement. Ronaldo is static most of the games!
If we dont sign one in January, we will struggle to get the top 5 let alone top 4 here. I dont think we will do badly but we wont be fixing our issues scoring for sure

The FA have leveled a charge against the club for the 49th minute.
Is "kiss my ass" a valid response?
