It’s mad how we’re saying tonight was bad. And we’re in a title race. We’re 6 months into a new manager being here, the players by and large have bought in. The fans definitely have. We’ve turned a corner for sure!

If we can get Felix in then why not? Need to get him in before the Arsenal game. Add to the fact they're after him aswell seeing him scoring against them will be golden. Next weekend is massive aswell as they've got Spurs away.

Good win and all that but I am having a real problem here…maybe it’s me but I haven’t actually seen Antony take on a player one on one and go past him… He goes so far and then passes back almost every time… Please convince me that he is actually quite good… Someone said it a few pages back but I'd like to see him on the left. He wouldn't need to rely on cutting inside so often. He needs to get fitter and physically stronger for a start and needs to understand how effective he can be if he just passed the ball with one or two touches. There were numerous occasions in that game where he just stood on the ball and delayed making an easy ball. I don't see a great deal of intelligence in his play either and I feel he needs alot of coaching which is crazy for a £100m player. There's nothing between him an Garnacho in my opinion.

He’s contributed and he’ll get there. Not directly comparing, but a certain number 7 was the same at first.

I think it'll come. He's come to a totally different league so there's always the chance he'd need time to adapt. Will see as he goes but hope he manages to do it.

By the time he was Antony's age he was pretty much the best in the world. I do see talent with Antony and he just needs time to adjust and kick on though.

I mentioned in the Summer that I'd prefer we sign Gakpo at a slim fee vs spend that gigantic amount on Antony, and sort of still think we overpaid massively.
That said, there's a player there and with time he'll hopefully get stronger and more well adjusted to the league. Goals will help his confidence too.
Rashford looking better and better, which can be said for a few players this season.
That's one of the most promising things so far, ETH seems to be improving almost everyone.
Also, considering we essentially had 3 fullbacks in defence for not the first time this season, we're looking remarkably solid at the back.

FA cup, league cup and europa league treble please Erik We can win the League. I agree with this on the basis of my confidence in Arsenal spectacularly bottling it - it's between United and City in my mind 😂

Given the price tag Antony should be ready made apart from a few tweaks to adjust to the PL, he defends well at times but going forward he`s lacking for me, too predictable cutting in every time to get on his left foot.

Antony is too one-dimensional (and massively overpriced) and Martial is too useless for any title challenge. That’s 2/3 of our front 3 that carry next to zero threat. Rashford is basically carrying us at the moment in terms of goal threat. Any attempt to tweak our forward line without new signings will see him played out of position. Our only hope is getting a quality striker and Sancho finishing his metamorphosis into the player we all hoped he’d become.

Hopefully Antony can stay fit, get a consistent run. He does need to put in some work as he must be able to offer more. Price tag not his fault but it cannot be completely ignored.
Nice to win and hope to see bruno, Antony, rashford, Casemiro, Eriksen, Shaw, varane rested for the game against Charlton

I worry for the day when Casemiro is rested or injured, we'll be fucked again.
We need to prioritise a long-term replacement for him this summer who can fill in the gaps over the next couple of seasons as it's been proven countless times already that neither of fucking McFred can do it.

Wins a win but not overly pretty.
It's a weird season when we can play like we did against Spurs where it's one of our most complete performances in years and dominate a top 6 team, but then we still get so many scratchy performances like last night. That said, we'd probably draw or lose them last season so it is progress.
7 more months of work on the training ground and 4 or 5 more EtH players and you'd expect the level and consistency to increase.

This. we shouldn’t be paying 80 million plus on a player who has the tag of ‘there’s a player in there’ or ‘has potential’, you pay 10-30 on those types. I hope he turns it round over this and next season because when the new owners come in and ETH gets the transfer transfer kitty we all hope he gets, Antony won’t be getting anywhere near the starting 11. Saying that I do like him and I hope he makes it here.

Antony is one dimensional lacks discipline has a questionable attitude and doesn’t have much end product and generally seems like a pet project for Erik and an expensive one at that. Gakpo would have made a lot more sense at half the price. He gets a bit of a pass as it’s his first season but we made excuses for sancho and Donny in their first seasons and don’t look like making it at the club. It doesn’t help that Erik indulges him and starts him every time he’s available for selection.
