That view shows what a farcical decision it was, these officials are the worst we`ve had in a very long time, and VAR has actually made them worse. VAR is now being blamed for everything but VAR is operated by the officials, so it's still there cock up. I’ve said it from day ne that var needs scrapping altogether, it’s ruining the game. Goal line technology is all that is needed.

Had no fucking idea what that red was for until I got home. From the angle they showed initially, I sort of thought, yeah fair play. But when you see it in real time from the reverse angle, it’s just never a red. They’ve basically given him a still-frame where it looks like Homer on Bart.
It’s too risky to appeal it. They’ll double down and we’ll miss him for the cup final. At least he’ll be fresh for Barca I guess.
Martinez was brilliant yesterday. What a player we’ve got there.

This decision is indefensible. Casemiro and Hughes look like they just matched on Tinder

The signing of Sabitzer made even more necessary now.

Goal line technology is all that is needed. The technology clearly isn't the problem. It works without significant drama or constant fuck ups elsewhere. The referees are just appalling.

I’d still get rid. no matter how good the technology is at the end of the day it’s just another(virtual)referee officiating on a match. Remember when they tried linesmen behind the goal(that didn’t really work either). Even with all its flaws the old format of 3 officials on the pitch has worked fine for over 100 years(you get some decisions that go for you and some that go against you) and was the debate about the game for fans and pundits. Plus the game flowed with the old format.

Maybe not appeal as it could backfire and probably would but I think there should be a complaint in some form, accepting a red for that is not on.

We still need to get our goal difference up. +8 compared to Newcastle's +22 (City +33, Arsenal +28). Even Brighton (+11) and Spurs (+9) are doing better than us in that regard.

I normally thread on the side of caution with appeal but with the uproar in regards to what happened and the fact there are other angles that support an appeal, I think we should appeal. People might think, o it’s just Leeds but I simply don’t trust Fred like that and whilst Sabitzer looked good, I’d rather he is next to Casemiro than play instead of Casemiro

The technology isn't the issue. Every other league in Europe have proved that. It's down to incompetent officials, to which the standard has plummeted since the introduction of VAR.
They also don't follow guidelines, they follow their own which is why they're woefully inconsistent.
MOTD showed an entirely different angle to the Casemiro incident that the ref wasn't shown. An angle that made it far less damaging. Granted he was still daft for doing what he did but by not showing all angles you're limiting the outcome.
Again since the city game we've had absolutely fuck all go for us. Even the penalty it took them 3 minutes to think up a genuine reason why they couldn't give it. Its a joke. Add to that Ayew had both hands on Fred but wasn't even reviewed. Convenient that.
